ROH PROFILED BY BALTIMORE SUN, VIRGINIA UPDATE, HERO DVD RELEASED, ROH-RING WARRIORS AND MORE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2012-01-20 09:58:59
The Baltimore Sun featured a pretty extensive article on Ring of Honor's first TV taping in their new home market yesterday, featuring lots of photos and quotes from ROH COO Joe Koff. The article noted Koff was as big a fan of the product as anyone else in the building.  That's a good thing.   The article noted the importance of Sinclair Broadcasting having the chance to own its own wrestling company in terms of creating original content that they can use for their stations. There will be a working agreement with the NWA Ring Warriors promotion in Florida the weekend of Wrestlemania.  At Warrior's event on 3/29 in Ft. Lauderdale, Jim Cornette will appear and name a ROH wrestler to challenge the NWA champion, Adam Pearce.  Cornette and Warriors promoter Howard Brody go back a long, long way and in fact Brody helped Smoky Mountain Wrestling close in the black by arranging an international TV syndication deal for the tapes when the company was shutting down.  It should be interesting to see what comes of the agreement over the course of the ROH shows that weekend in the same market.

Big weekend for ROH as they return to Philadelphia tonight.  Stu Carapola will be at the show doing live coverage here on the main page.

Tomorrow, ROH will debut in Norfolk, Virginia at the Scope with the following lineup:

*ROH Champion Davey Richards & Kyle O'Reilly vs. The House of Truth's Roderick Strong & Michael Elgin

*ROH Tag Team champions Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Caprice Coleman & Cedric Alexander
*Eddie Edwards vs. Mike Bennett
*ROH TV Champion Jay Lethal vs. Tommaso Ciampa
*Adam Cole vs. Kevin Steen
*Kenny King vs. Andy Ridge
*Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin in action.

ROH TV this week will feature the first episode taped in Baltimore with Matt Jackson vs. Kenny King, Eddie Edwards vs. Mike Mondo and Roderick Strong vs. Ricky Reyes.

The Best of Chris Hero DVD set is now available at www.rohwrestling.com.  The next Best of DVD set will be Haas and Benjamin.
