COMPLETE ROH PHILADELPHIA HOMECOMING DETAILS, IDENTITY OF NEW BACKSTAGE INTERVIEWER, NEW IPPV AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2012-01-12 15:02:40
Ring of Honor will return to Philadelphia for the first time since the end of their HDNet series next Friday 1/20 at the National Guard Armory with a pretty packed lineup featuring:

*ROH champion Davey Richards vs. Jay Lethal
*Eddie Edwards vs. Roderick Strong: No Holds Barred
*Chris Hero vs. Michael Elgin
*Future Shock vs. Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin
*ROH Tag Team champions Briscoes vs. CHIKARA's Frightmare & Hallowicked
*Kevin Steen vs. Kenny King
*Steve Corino interview about his ROH future
*Meet and Greet pre-show with Briscoes and Chris Hero.

The company will then debut in the Norfolk Scope complex in Norfolk, Virginia on Saturday 3/21 headlined by ROH champ Davey Richards & Kyle O'Reilly vs. The House of Truth, Eddie Edwards vs. Mike Bennett, and TV champ Jay Lethal vs. Tommaso Ciampa with the rest of the roster from Philly (except perhaps Hero) scheduled.

For tickets to both events, visit www.rohwrestling.com.

Veda Scott, who trained as a wrestler in the ROH Academy and works a lot of independents, debuted on the most recent Videowire as the company's backstage interviewer. She's got this funky Lisa Loeb cuteness to her and is well spoken, since she has a legitimate legal background. She's been working backstage and as a timekeeper for the company for some time, but this is her first "official" on camera role.

The next TV Taping will be 2/4 in Baltimore. I believe but have not confirmed that they will tape in MD in March as well.

The ROH Internet PPV on 3/4 was added in the last week or so. The company will be pricing it at only $10 as a thank you to the audience for their years of support to the company, which is a nice gesture. It seems like only yesterday I walked into the Murphy Rec Center to see that first event, which was as perfect a first show as has ever been attempted on the independent scene.

The Bravados have gone to Japan to live and train in the Pro Wrestling NOAH dojos for the next several months.

With the new TV markets, the company is now on 50 stations in about 25% of the country. In a lot of ways, they are building from ground up all over again and they are slowly but surely building their market penetration.

“Gateway To Honor” and “Survival of the Fittest 2011” have both been released on DVD at www.rohwrestling,com. I watched Gateway the other day and it has a hell of an American Wolves vs. All Night Express match. Survival was the tournament Michael Elgin won as well as Generico vs. Steve Corino.

They are building up dissension between Prince Nana and his barrister R.D. Evans based on recent interviews.
