BLOOD ON THE WWE NETWORK, WHAT IS DRIVING VIEWERS AWAY, WWE IN THE SAME CITIES AND MORE

First off, Happy New Year!

How do the ratings compare from the 6-26-2006 RAW, HHH and Shawn as Vince and Shane, to that time period this year? I ask this as i watch " The New and Improved DX" on netflix and realize how much better it really was just 5 years ago.

That show did a 4.0, which was actually down from 4.3 the two shows prior.  On 6/27/11 Raw did a 3.1.  That says a lot.

Why does the WWE keep holding pay-per-views in the same city every year like Chicago and Los Angeles, while cities that have not had a pay-per-view event since 2000 like Anaheim, CA never seem to get one?

Anaheim isn't a great example since it's not far from LA.  They choose the locations that they do because they draw well and they have a good relationship with the buildings.  You can't blame them for having shows where there is a large population.

You may have already answered the question about bloody matches on the new network. Obviously, the new product will not feature these kinds of matches. My question relates to the vast library of classic matches from the old NWA and AWA now owned by McMahon. The only reason I would spend a dime on the Network would be to see the old stars in their prime. This is not necessarily for the gore aspect, but more so to enjoy the product and the wrestlers in their original and much more entertaining form.

I understand what you mean.  If you remember Tully Blanchard and Magnum TA's I Quit match, it would just not be the same without the blood.  Of course, we didn't know then what we do now about blood borne diseases.  I have not heard what the official policy will be on blood but given that they ban it on the current product my guess is that they will on the network too.  I think if we see it at all, it will be in the overnight hours.

Hi guys, I'm a big fan of WWE, and am excited to hear about the WWE network. I really do like the idea of seeing classics matches and shows involving superstars past and present. My question is, do you think the network will become available in the UK and Ireland (I live in Ireland). I know Sky and WWE have good relationship and Sky recently announced an TV channel dedicated to Formula 1 racing, so is it possible they would do the same for WWE. If not would the network be available to subscribe to online?

WWE wants all the clearances that they can get and The UK and Ireland are great markets for them so they will do their best to get clearance there.  If not, I expect they will start a campaign asking their fans to demand it, as they plan to do here in the US.

As the voice and/or face of authority on Raw, why have Vince and Creative blown it so badly with the last two Raw general managers? First there was the “anonymous” GM who was beyond annoying because the bit ran for far too long, and now we have the “boring as hell” John Laurinaitis. Does Vince not realize that both cause viewers to change channels? Unlike the axiom regarding publicity, not all heat is good heat.

When you look at how the ratings have dropped this year, you have to ask why.  Michael Cole playing a character instead of putting over talent and making the fans care about the wrestlers is a big reason.  His having a prominent role in the GM character was a big part of that.  Now, Laurinaitis is boring too.  Both characters do nothing to bring in viewers.  Vince needs to remember that fans care about the wrestlers and put the emphasis of his shows back on them.  When people care about the folks in the ring, WWE does better business.
