LAYLA'S RETURN, MORRISON AND MELINA, MARYSE TO TNA AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2011-12-31 10:00:00
Any chance of former WWE Divas star Maryse signing with TNA next year?

I don't see it happening. She seems pretty content being outside of pro wrestling these days.

Why didn't the WWE have a Match of the Year Slammy this year? Did they not feel it would serve any storyline purposes or were there not enough "good" candidates for the nomination? It seems like if they wanted to do the usual storylines around the Slammys being won, they could have easily changed some winners, added the Match of the Year, and just renamed the Pipebomb to something about goofs. Punk wins OMG Moment for leaving with the title, Triple H and Undertaker win for Match of the Year, and someone else just wins the Goof of the Year and it holds no storyline purpose, it could be one of the ones they announce on WWE.com.

The Slammys are simply another storyline prop for the company, so for whatever reason, they didn't feel like they needed the Match of the Year award to push any of their storylines into a new direction. It's that simple.

I know this has been beat to death, but I have to ask a question about a John Cena "Heel" turn. Why does a heel turn have to be a heel turn. Why does he have to turn on the fans. Why can't Cena's heel turn be a more blatant display of "Ruthless Aggression"? I remember back when Ausin and Foley were two of the biggest names in the WWE, yet Austin stuns Foley, Foley is still a star, and Austin get no heat. Could it work? Could WWE creative pull off something so creative? Cena as someone who cherishes the fans who cheer him and turns on the ones who don't. You then have a win/win scenario? Thoughts

That's simply the storyline WWE is trying to tell right now.

If TNA does sign for WWE star John Morrison would you expect former WWE Divas champion Melina to follow? A package deal so to speak?

Yes.

Is the plan for WWE Diva star Layla to return to the ring next year?

Yes, in January.
