WWE CLASSICS ON DEMAND BEING DISCONTINUED, ACCORDING TO CABLE PROVIDER

By Mike Johnson on 2011-12-12 18:03:20
Several readers who subscribe to WWE Classics on Demand via AT&T Uverse received postcards in the last day that the service would be discontinued on 1/1/12. On the postcards, AT&T stated that "the service is being discontinued by WWE."

It should be noted that on WWE.com, the WWE Classics section is still running a video preview for their January month, built around rebellious wrestling personalities like Roddy Piper and Steve Austin.

It may be that WWE is ending the service as contractual agreements end to instead spend their energies towards the WWE Network launching in April, but I can't 100% confirm that and among those I've spoken to in the company, this was the first they had heard of the decision.

WWE Classics, formerly known as WWE 24/7, launched on 10/1/04.

As we receive clarification, we'll update this story, but if you can receive the WWE VOD channel, enjoy it while you can.
