JUGGALO CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING DEBUT AT FORMER ECW ARENA CANCELED (UPDATED)

By Mike Johnson on 2011-12-12 15:38:11
Juggalo Championship Wrestling issued an announcement via email to PWInsider.com that their 12/30 Internet PPV in Philadelphia, PA at the former ECW Arena was "canceled by the new owners of the building" and that the date would not be taking place.

The show was slated to feature a ton of former ECW stars and JCW regulars facing each other in a series of matches. The promotion announced that planned dates on 12/17 in Detroit, Michigan and 12/31 in Worcester, MA would still go on as scheduled.

The sad thing about the cancellation is that it likely takes away the last chance for a lot of fans to see former ECW talents in that venue.

Note: This version of the story has removed a paragraph regarding the PA Athletic Commission. Commission sources noted they had no bearing on the show not taking place. It was entirely the decision of the new management of the facility. I apologize for the earlier error.

As it stands, the last scheduled shows in the former ECW Arena will be the 1/14 CZW and EVOLVE double header.
