THE FIRST GOAL OF THE WWE NETWORK, WHY NEXUS SPLIT, WWF VS. WWF AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2011-11-10 10:00:00
I’m wondering what you think about the whole WWE Network and how well it will actually do. By the looks of it, it will all be Wrestling based shows. Considering that WWE don’t have the best ratings in the world and they don’t plan on moving Raw and Smackdown from the network its on now what are they expecting to do ratings wise. As a fan i can just find all the replays of Raw and Smackdown boring (they do this too much in the product anyway). Do they plan on extending the brand as a whole away from wresting or what? I just don’t seem to understand it much.

You are asking questions that are way too early to answer. It will all depend on whether they can accomplish their early goals, which is to roll out the Network across all the different cable and satellite providers. Once they get to that point, then we can start trying to measure success.

With the addition of Gail Kim back into the TNA Knockout fold do you see an almost vast improvement of the workrate involving all of the Knockouts especially Brooke Tessmacher?

I think she adds a lot to the division within the ring.

What do think of the idea of Lindsay Lohan hosting WWE Raw SuperShow?

She obviously needs the money, so why not?

Why did The Nexus break up? They were such a hot group. Feared. United. A force to be reconded with. They eventually broke up. One group became The Corre. What happened? Just like CM Punk. A hot storyline only to be doused by cold water.

Bad booking.

How long after the WWF officially changed its name/initials to WWE that the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) sued claiming name infringement?

WWE changed their name in anticipation of losing the lawsuit to the World Wildlife Fund. They were not sued because of the name change. They were sued because they had an agreement in place over who would use the WWF initials in different markets and the changing technologies, including web domains, changed those landscapes. Between that and the changing of the logo, which the Wildlife Fund claimed would cause confusion in the marketplace, we are left with the blurring and the WWE name.
