OK, so WWE fires Jim Ross and they bring him back the next week.  What happened?

Ross has said WWE contracted him on Thursday about coming in and then said he doesn't know if he will ever be back.  What I believe happened was they saw how many people turned off last week's Raw and figured they would use JR to get more heat on John Laurinaitis.  Vince McMahon just doesn't get it.

Has there ever been a case where a wrestler has been fired from WWE for giving insider information to your site? If not, and it happened tomorrow, would you report on it with the level of detail that you usually provide, or would you be judicious with what you write out of loyalty to your source?

There never has because we go out of our way to at least second source story to make sure we protect out sources.  As reporters we have an obligation to protect our sources.

I just saw "Hitman Hart: Wrestling with Shadows" for the first time, it was striking in its unflattering portrayal of Vince McMahon, the kind VKM never allows in his own productions. Two obvious thoughts: how were the producers able to use the WWE footage in a film that portrays McMahon so negatively? Why would VKM consent to it?

Vince McMahon had agreed to allow Paul Jay backstage access to to film the movie because he obviously didn't foresee the events that would happen.  He figured it would be a good, positive piece on how WWE works and instead the Montreal Screwjob happened.  Once Vince had allowed him to film, he couldn't stop Jay from using the footage.

Why did WCW never give Bill Goldberg another title run since he was their biggest star?

There were a few reasons.  One, there were a lot of top guys that were very savvy politically in the company that were better politicians than Goldberg.  Two, they did try to get him over again after his first run ended and it just didn't happen again.  He was a one hit wonder.

Do you think that WWF/E gave up on Maven? Granted he did not come within the industry however in watching the old Tough Enough shows he seemed to have "it" at least when on the mic, if he had more seasoning or experience within the industry could he have made it in WWF/E? Also do you know what Maven is up to these days?

I think he got a decent chance.  He had charisma and did solid promos but he was very green.  He got a bit of a push early on and when that happens it's hard to send a guy down and get the seasoning he needs.  I think that happened with him.  I don't know what he is up to today.
