TRYING OUT FOR ROH AND SHIMMER, THE SIGNIFIGANCE OF THE TAG ROPE, FUTURE OF WWE TAG DIVISION AND MORE

Thanks a lot for taking the time to read my question. I’m sure this may have been asked before but during a tag match, regardless of the number of participants, there is always a rope hanging off the top turnbuckle and most every wrestler hangs onto it. Does this mean anything or is it just a habit they have all formed.

The tag rope designates how far a combatant can legally go while waiting to tag his opponent. You also need to be holding it in order to make a "legal" tag. It had been phased out before returning to prominence in the early part of the decade by Ring of Honor in 2002.

It seems that 'Superstars' is just a show for banging in a couple of extra matches a week with no real story line to it, while recapping Raw and Smackdown. Would it not be possible to add some lower down storylines and feuds to the mix and have them all come together at the end of the month in a superstars special, for example 3/4 weeks of promos and building up and then instead of superstars one week bring something like 'Heat' with a bit of a PPV feel to it? It would mean that the lower superstars get to put all their talents to good use instead of just wrestling pointlessly against each other to try and get a push somewhere down the line.

I'd be all for that. I often feel Superstars is the most underrated show weekly. You are guaranteed 1-2 solid wrestling matches just for the sake of wrestling.

With the Tag Team division heating up and a lack of any really good Tag Teams that could make it relevant again, having Kofi and Bourne wrestle against the old Nexus would be pretty boring, what tag teams would you make up and add to the mix? I'm hoping that Miz and Truth get in the mix as they were brilliant the other Monday, also what do you think about Cena going into the Tag Team division somewhere down the line? It would keep him on TV and selling merch but give the Tag Teams and his partner a massive boost.

I'd make sure Chris Hero is signed and added the Kings of Wrestling. I'd let the Usos actually be the hip hop urban badasses they could be. I'd continue pushing JTG & Darren Young as a team. I'd throw as much money at Beer Money as possible. I'd look at the Young Bucks. There are a lot of great teams out there.

For some time various opinions have been given on the growth so far of TNA (Impact Wrestling). Opinions on how to improve. Implement changes where needed. Sign new talent. Things like that. What about the all women's wrestling promotion SHIMMER? Its been in existence for over five years I believe. I realize SHIMMER relies on DVD & t-shirt sales, local hometown support, prices on tickets sold for numerous tapings, word of mouth to remain in business. They are a remarkable organizations with a roster of very skilled and exceptional women wrestlers. If you could suggest one thing on how to improve, a push as you will, what would it be?

My one suggestion to SHIMMER would be to do what they have already done recently and that's take everything in house. It's much easier to break even and make money when you don't have to worry about taking care of your partner's expenses and percentages.

What does WWE and TNA normally look for when they conduct tryouts of wrestlers male and female for the purpose of possibly being signed by their respected companies? Generation Me had a tryout with WWE recently. Serena had a tryout with TNA some months ago. Does ROH and SHIMMER have tryouts as well?

ROH has semi-regular camps where talents can try out and work out before ROH officials. Some of the current talent, including Mike Bennett, have gotten roster slots that way. SHIMMER has talents work matches on their pre-shows but beyond that, there is no formal tryout process. They are a very small operation.
