Why have Steel Cage matches end with a pinfall or submission? Why not just leave it at "escape the cage"? Wouldn't that help to differentiate it even more from regular matches by ensuring that it will never finish in the same way a normal match would?

Some guys have problems climbing out, for one.  I mean if Big Show is in there, would you buy that he could climb out?  I have no problem allowing pins and submissions in the bout.  It's wrestling match and they are ways to win it.  To me, the cage has always been about keeping the two guys in there, man vs. man.

It's been mentioned a few times over the years, that Steel Cage/Hell in a Cell matches have 'ended careers', but has there ever been a case--WWE or elsewhere--where a career has been unfortunately ended as a direct result of a cage/cell match?

I can't think of any that were ended as a direct result of a Cell match but I am sure a lot of guys sustained abuse in them that led to problems down the road.

Regarding ADR's visa issue, what would WWE's reaction be to that? I think that WWE would expect 'Superstars', ;) , to ensure their visas are renewed prior to expiring. Failing to do so results in match cancellations/switches, as already seen in this instance, and the potential for angle disruption.

The problem with visas is that the talents are at the mercy of the governments in their home countries.  The workers do all they can to ensure that they get renewed and at that point it's up to the government to do the rest.  As long as they make WWE aware of when their visa expires, the company understands the way the process works.

Regarding Beth Hardy's response to Matt's 'suicide' video, I say 'right on'! Her delivering it via Twitter however causes me to take pause. A message like that, if sincere, should be delivered privately and in person. Tweeting it for the whole world to see makes me think she's just another player in the game. Your thoughts? Thanks.

I think you are making unfair assumptions here.  You have no idea what Beth has or hasn't said to Matt in the past in private.  You also don't know how Matt's recent behavior has affected her and her family.  When Matt posted that ridiculous video and the cops showed up at her house late at night, I don't blame her one bit for venting on Twitter.  Sometimes the only way you can get through to someone who is off the reservation is to publicly bring attention to their actions.  I have no problem at all with what Beth did.  In fact, I think she made the right move.

I'd like both Dave and Mike Johnson to answer this question either in print or audio. Do you think TNA made the right decision to air a wrestling pay per view on 9/11 especially being that it is the tenth anniversary of that horrible day in our nation's history?

9/11 was one of the most horrible days in our history for sure but I don't think that means that entertainment companies have to make it an off day.  Actually, my bigger problem with TNA running a PPV on 9/11 was that it was the opening Sunday of the NFL season and they had a big match-up for free on NBC.  TNA would have been better off running on Labor Day Sunday than against the Dallas-Jets game.
