BRYAN CASHING IN ON PUNK, THE END OF THE BRAND EXTENSION, DANA MEETING WITH VINCE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2011-08-05 10:00:00
Are the Raw talents on last week's Smackdown the start of the end of the Brand Extension?

A lot of people sure hoped so based on email feedback, but my gut is that they are simply doing cross-promotional appearances to promote Summerslam later this month.

I've seen former TNA Knockout star Tracy Brooks on Impact Wrestling lately. Will she a part of TNA on a regular basis or is the visit just a one shot deal?

I believe she is under a deal where she is paid per appearance.

So my question is in regards to Sin Cara. With all signs pointing to him being released, what will happen to Averno? wasn't he signed to feud with him? Also I think it's pretty unfair for Sin Cara to be released, after one mistake, I think he was getting over, and was adapting to the WWE style, to just give up on him would be a waste. Whats your opinion on this issue?

I've heard nothing that leads me to believe Sin Cara is going to be released. There's been no word on Averno, but he's still in Mexico wrestling.

With Danielson... I mean, Daniel Bryan... :-) With Bryan has already stated that he will cash his briefcase on WrestleMania next year, wouldn't it make for an interesting angle to have CM Punk go over at SummerSlam and then go dark for a while, with maybe special appearances here and there, still claiming that he is the true champ and have Daniel Bryan use his briefcase to challenge Punk at Mania? That would be a match that I would be looking forward to see at the big show. Of course, it probably does not make that much sense now that Punk is back to have him leave again. What do you think of the viability of that kind of angle?

It's an interesting idea, but I think the storyline is that Daniel Bryan has to cash in on the World champ....unless Punk is the World champion by April 1, 2012.

UFC president Dana White told someone on Twitter that he was at WWE Headquarters a few weeks ago. Any idea why he was there?

As we covered on the site, White has claimed he was there for a personal meeting with Vince McMahon. As noted in the PWInsider Elite section, one source believes they discussed UFC television deals since McMahon has history with Viacom from when they partnered with them and also obviously with NBC/Comcast, which UFC has been talking to.
