I saw on another website that no veterans of the business think that the CM Punk storyline will draw any money at the PPV.  It said that there were "no exceptions" to that.  What do you think?

Last I checked, Mick Foley was a veteran and he said that Punk had talked him into the building into the building tonight so I think if someone really wrote that, they owe Mick an apology.  The business is indeed about drawing money and I personally think that there will be a bump in PPV buys for this show.  I also know for a fact that they will draw more money at the house because I have now heard from 19 people in the Chicago that were not going to buy the PPV or attend the show before the angle started a few weeks ago that have bought tickets due to the Punk angle, plus more than I can count that said they weren't going to buy the PPV before but are now after Punk's two great Raw promos.  That isn't very scientific, obviously, but it is extra money that WWE would not have gotten before they shot the angle.  I think it would be ridiculous to say that people were not going to buy the show due to the angle, so WWE is already ahead money-wise.  So if "veterans" really feel that way that the site you mention says they do, I think they are out of touch with what sells and don't understand that a lower Raw rating does not necessarily mean a lower buyrate or gate at a house show.

Who do you see as viable candidates for emerging as top faces over the next year? It seems like Super Cena and Omni-Orton stand alone at the top and every other "good guy" is scrambling around in the mid card.

On Raw, Alex Riley seems to have a chance, especially because people detest Miz.  I could see Kofi Kingston stepping up as well.  Over on Smackdown it is more wide open.  I guess you could say Sin Cara but he has to show me something first.

Do you think Christian is being booked similar to the way Jeff Hardy was booked when he first chased/won the World Championship? I have the feeling that Christian goes over and wins the World Title at MITB....only to have it taken away from him minutes later by the winner of MITB (setting up another feud for Christian to chase the championship while still being at the top of the card). Do you feel Christian is stronger as the chaser of the title vs. being the champ?

I don't think Christian has been booked well at all.  I get that Vince McMahon didn't want to put the title on him but once Edge got hurt, I think they should have at least given Christian a month's run with the belt to see how it went.  It's not like Randy Orton needed the title and frankly I think having the babyface chase would do better business than having the one super over guy dominating the belt.  Taking it off Christian a few days after he won hurt him credibility-wise and made it look like a fluke.  They have tried to make him more credible with the booking since but the damage is done.  If they have him win, then lose, tonight it would be truly awful booking.  With that said, I see Orton winning tonight and moving on to either Sheamus or Mark Henry.

What is latest on the rumor of a) Spike TV purchasing TNA Impact Wresting and b) Spike TV bringing in Paul Heyman to overhaul the company. Are Dixie's Mom and Dad really thinking about selling the (wrestling) company?

I have heard nothing credible to support either rumor.  TNA hasn't talked to Heyman in a while so I see no chance of that happening any time soon.

How close was WWE to going out of business at its lowest point against WCW? I know things got real bad, but how dire was it?

I don't believe that they were close at all.  They were privately held back then so all of their numbers weren't released, but they were still doing decent business back then.  They were not close to going under.  Now back around the first WrestleMania, that is another story.  If that show had bombed, it probably would have taken the company down with it.
