CM PUNK'S FINAL WEEK IN WWE, A NATIONAL TV DEAL FOR ROH, MAYBE WRESTLING DOES MATTER IN TNA, MIA BRODUS CLAY AND MORE

Since TNA changed to Impact Wrestling all I'm hearing is Wrestling Matters from them but they are really not doing anything to prove this all it is is talk whilst WWE are proving this by getting new talents from multiple countries is TNA just prolonging their own downfall.

To be fair, you sent this on June 9 and at the time, it didn't seem like TNA was focusing any more on wrestling at that time than they have been.  Over the last few shows however there has been more wrestling on the programs.  Let's hope that trend continues with this week's Impact tapings.  Obviously, the Hogans and Stings and Andersons, etc. will keep on talking because that is just the nature of the business.  But hopefully, the recent trend of having guys wrestle didn't end with last night's PPV.

This is a two part question. I live in New York City and had the pleasure to be at the Hammerstein Ballroom for Ring of Honor Best in the World and I saw the best match I've seen in years between Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards. I think Ring of Honor deserves the right to be part of the big three wrestling promotions along with WWE and TNA. The only complaint I have about Ring of Honor is unless I live in Buffalo, Rochester or Syracuse (where Sinclair Broadcast Group has their stations) I can't see Ring of Honor unless I buy the DVDs or wait until they come back to NYC. Could Ring of Honor do the same thing what ECW and TNA has done and that's air their wrestling program on a local channel in New York City like MSG or MSG+ or SNY? I also believe that they could benefit from being on a major cable network the same way TNA grew when they were first on Fox Sports Net and moved to Spike. Is there any chance of Sinclair Broadcasting Group teaming up with a cable network? I could see Ring of Honor being shown a channel like Versus.

It is really expensive to buy time on TV stations in that manner.  It didn't work out for ECW and it wouldn't for ROH either.  It really only makes sense to make a deal with a cable network.  Sinclair just bought the company and given that they have a number of stations, ROH will start out there, which is the smartest way to start out.  Could I see a situation where the show does well and the reach out to a cable channel to try and get national exposure?  Absolutely.  Buying time in markets however is just too cost prohibitive to work.  Jim Cornette has stated that ROH plans to make their show available online.  With HDMI cables even people that don't like watching on a computer could hook a laptop into their TV and watch that way.

This may have already been brought up, but whatever happened to Brodus Clay? He was being given a pretty decent push with Alberto Del Rio on Smackdown, but as soon as Del Rio got drafted to the Raw brand, it seems like Brodus Clay only lasted a few more weeks solo.

He has joined DH Smith in the "Creative forgets he works here" club.  It's a shame too because he had a different look to him which made him kind of interesting.

Dave, from the way you guys sound on the site - it seems like it's a done deal that Punk is leaving the company for sure. Are you guys positive on this?

As I sit here and type this, Punk is leaving the company.  Very little in wrestling can be called a done deal until it actually happens but at this moment in time, Punk is leaving WWE next week.

What are the chances CM Punk wins at MITB, and then leaves. Only to buy tickets to other companies, show up and make a scene as a 'free agent' before leaving, just to get people talking and generate interest more before he is 'begged' to come back to the 'E? I can see this developing into Cena 'the company man' V Punk 'the rebellious anti-establishment man' leading up to next years Mania.

That scenario means that WWE is giving promotion to other companies, plus takes their title off of TV.  I don't see it happening so I will put the chances at 99 to 1.
