BIG BOSSMAN'S WCW PERSONAS, TNA PUSHING NEW TALENTS AS TOP FLIGHT STARS, WHY TNA AND SPIKETV HAD 'LIMITED COMMERCIALS' LAST WEEK AND MORE

What's your opinion over what happened on TNA's Impact Wrestling recently during the Knockout tag team match between Miss Tessmacher & Velvet Sky vs ODB & Jackie (Jacqueline) when Jackie delivered a low blow to Velvet Sky resulting in her team losing? Both Mike Tenay and Taz didn't utter a single bit of condemnation for the act. They both bit their tongues. Reaction?

It just goes to show how jaded some in the business have become to overdone endings and blatant cheating. Sometimes you have to take a step backwards to go forward and I'd love to see announcers ripping on heels for pulling out such antics. I don't expect to see it in 2011, but it'd be nice.

First off I'm a huge fan of the site have been since day one.. i enjoy the accurate reporting on the stories and the fact that it's reported in a real-time feel.. My question concerns Ray Traylor ( Big Bossman) when he first arrived in WCW he went by the name of "The Boss" then i recall him being stripped of that name and being given other law enforcment type names.. what was the reason for the many name changes was it something legal with the then WWF? Keep up the awesome work my money is well spent in subscribing..

WWF felt using the name "The Boss" was too close to Big Bossman and sent a legal letter to WCW. That's what led to Boss becoming the Guardian Angel and when he turned heel, Big Bubba Rogers.

I read where legendary wrestling great Bruno Sammartino was in the hospital. How is he doing? All the best to him.

Sammartino is expected to make a full recovery, but it's going to take several months.

Thanks for running such a great site. My question is regarding shows with limited commercial interruption, like the most recent episode of Impact. What are the ramifications for TNA and Spike? Who makes up for the lost ad revenue, Spike or TNA? And do they actually think it will boost ratings? Why even do it in the first place? Thank you.

There is actually no lost revenue. The sponsor, in this case Five Hour Energy Drink, pays for the difference in exchange for promotional mentions. The limited commercials actually helped the show rise up a bit in the ratings, probably because none of the matches went to commercials in the middle of the action, something that GREATLY increased my enjoyment of the episode.

Why is TNA pushing green guys like Crimson and Gunner to the top and not guys who has been with the company for years and are now hitting their prime like Roode and Kaz? Seems like they didn't pay their dues yet. Also TNA seems to drop the ball with Samoa Joe and Desmond Wolfe, 2 of the one time could have been biggest home grown stars.

For the same reason any television entity creates new characters and brings them in - to prevent stagnation. While I wholeheartedly agree with you that TNA has often dropped the ball and overlooked talents who have had tenure there, sometimes when that happens, fans will not take to a personality when they are on the fourth or fifth big push of their run. Sometimes you have to start fresh and they are doing that with Gunner and Crimson. I honestly would not be shocked to see Crimson in the main event of Bound for Glory this October. They obviously have huge plans for him long-term as they do Gunner. Sometimes you have to roll the dice and take a chance and that's what TNA is doing here. Whether it pans out long-term, we will have to see, but that's why we watch wrestling, isn't it?
