WWE STEALING FROM ZACK RYDER TO PUSH JOHNNY CURTIS?, RYDER IN HIS HOMETOWN, BOOKING CENA VS. ROCK AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2011-06-25 10:00:00
Why doesn't WWE feature at least two womens matches on both Raw and Smackdown programs? One the first hour and another in the second hour.

The company doesn't have the depth or the interest to feature the women's division in that way currently.

If you were the booker for Wrestlemania 28 in Miami, who would you book to win the Cena vs Rock match... the current face of the company or the returning legend? How would you book the finish and why?

I'd have Rock go over. It's likely going to be his last match and in his hometown. The loss won't hurt Cena if the match is great. The performance will be what everyone remembers and that legacy will make Cena a stronger star.

I'd like to know when did it become a mandatory rule that if a show airs from your hometown that you have to be featured on it. I don't get it this clown who calls himself Zach Ryder has not been part of any major angle since he was partnered with Curt Hawkins as the Edgeheads. Yet because he is so bored and so thirsty for attention he creates this online show about whatever it is and all of the sudden he is the messiah of the wrestling world. Is that reason enough to be on TV in his hometown? Besides the people in Long Island you ask any other fan about Ryder and their response will be "who?"

Are you really mocking the guy for doing what all the established stars in the company say the new generation all need to do - go out and make your own opportunity. Ryder is doing a great job of marketing and building his name online and considering the amount of signs that are in the crowd every week for him, I'd say there's a pretty large population beyond Long Island that cares about him, his show and his career. As far as being on TV in one's hometown, I don't think WWE would keep Daniel Bryan from working in Seattle, etc. so why should Ryder be any different? I don't think anyone really expected he was going to be on Raw in the main event but the company gave him a nice segment on Superstars that week, and for a reason - he earned it.

In my opinion the Johnny Curtis promos about crying over spilled milk and having a chip on his shoulder seem eerily familiar to some of the segments from Zack Ryder's internet show. Any chance this is a mere coincidence, or has someone on the Smackdown creative team been watching too much Z! True Long Island Story. Who's responsible for Curtis' promos? Your thoughts?

I can see the similarities. My best guess is that someone on creative pitched the ideas and someone higher up on the chain, who isn't aware of what Ryder has been doing, liked it and greenlit them.

Why does Christy Hemme always follow up a wrestlers name with the "uh" sound? Hogan-uh, Abyss-uh, Morgan-uh? I assume she is adding power or importance to their names.

That's exactly why.
