MATT HARDY'S MOST RECENT SHOT AT THE INTERNET, GOLDBERG RETURNING TO THE RING, TEAM 3D'S STUDENTS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2011-05-14 10:00:00
What did you think of Matt Hardy going online and telling everyone not to believe everything they see on the Internet, given he was, indeed, ON THE INTERNET?

I think Hardy impulsively does things without thinking or perhaps he just doesn't care because he sees "the Internet" as a force that used to support him but now a sizeable amount criticizes him. In regard to the comments about Helms, Hardy made similar comments about his brother after Jeff was arrested. While I admire Matt for defending his friends (and you and I would do the same out of loyalty to our own friends), Hardy was basically sitting in a bar and saying not to believe anything regarding a DUI investigation into Shane Helms' accident. Not the smartest environment to be making that statement in my opinion. Hardy could be right and there may be no charges filed, but the reality is that TMZ.com simply used the police report for their source material, so you can't blame them for going by what the authorities are stating on record. It's easy to blame the internet to loyalist fans who are going to side with whatever you say but statements like that never hold up well over time. I think Hardy would have been better suited to say, "I know there are a lot of stories going around but the most important thing is Helms' health and all the other BS will have to work itself out in time." I have no idea whether Helms will ever be charged with anything or not and in my mind, he's already suffered enough with those injuries but I don't blame TMZ for going with the story, since the police report is a matter of public record.

How come neither the Rock nor Austin ever faced Taker at Wrestlemania? Was it always a conscious decision to withhold these two potential match ups with the Deadman, or was it simply (pardon the pun) not in the cards booking-wise? Was there ever a time a match with either of these superstars close to happening?

Undertaker had a long program with Austin that culminated at a Summerslam, so they had moved into other directions by the time Wrestlemania came around. I think the reality was that the character hadn't yet evolved into the Wrestlemania "streak on the line" draw that he is in 2011 and filled a different role for the company than Austin or Rock did. It's pretty crazy to look back and see that they never matched up at Mania but all those combinations were matched up on lots of Raws and other PPVs.

I was channel surfing when I came upon a movie on the SyFy network entitled The Mighty Thor. The man who played Thor's father Odin seemed to be WWE star Kevin Nash. Was that him? If so when did he do the movie? While Nash waits until WWE uses him will he be doing any more movies/shows? By the way: One through ten I'd give the movie a One.

That was indeed Nash. He filmed the movie last year. Nash has been actively auditioning for movie and TV roles, so when something that is right for him comes around, you'll see him in it His size and look sort of pigeonholes him at times, but if you want to see him in a really great, funny role, check him out in the Jamie Presley film "DOA" based on the video game. GREAT, underrated, FUN flick.

Bill Goldberg's name was recently mentioned on a recent program of TNA's Impact! I realize its highly unlikely but any chance of Goldberg showing up someday out of the blue?

The chances are more likely the more money someone wants to throw at him. I don't see Goldberg ever wrestling again unless someone is willing to pay him six figures and put him over. He doesn't need to wrestle and he doesn't need the money but the right payday will bring him back, especially since he's talked of wanting to do it so his children can see him perform.

In the past students from Team 3D's wrestling school have taken part in matches on TNA's Impact! Are there plans to showcase male & female wrestling students this year? Rosie Lottalove was one.

When there is a role for them, you'll see them signed and/or used. You don't want to force or shoehorn people onto television roles and squander their potential for down the line.
