NO MORE WRESTLING FOR WWE, BEST PROMOS, HHH-TAKER AND MORE

Now that the WWE is no longer a wrestling (oops, sorry to use that dirty word) organization, are their employees Entertainers, and can they now organize as a union such as the American Federation of Radio and TV Artists?

That's actually a really good question!  WWE has always used the "independent contractor" status of wrestlers to their advantage, but if they aren't wrestlers, then I would imagine they fall under the umbrella of being television performers.  However, unless the members of the roster unify and push the issue (which I don't see happening) I don't expect a change.

I’m guessing you’ll be getting a lot of these – here’s my rant. By literally removing the word “wrestling” from WWE, isn’t the company basically spitting on everyone who contributed to their current level of success? Are they naïve enough to think that anyone will stop thinking of them as a wrestling company because they no longer use the word? Isn’t that kind of like ignoring the 500 lb. elephant in the room that doesn’t disappear because you don’t ignore it? Finally, wouldn’t it make FAR more sense to discuss how their product has evolved and perhaps that today’s “sports entertainers” are also a somewhat different breed than yesterday’s “wrestlers”? (Sorry for the rant – it’s just hard to believe how their thinking could be so incredibly simplistic.)

I agree, it is rather ridiculous.  It's like Coca-Cola expecting to be thought of as something other than a beverage company.  No matter how many other products they produce, Coke is thought of as "soda."  Likewise, no matter what WWE gets involved in, their name will still invoke the thought of "wrestling" to a majority of people.

You guys did a top 10 best promos of all time. Its been a while since I have seen any footage, but wouldn't Jake Roberts at least merit a mention in the discussion? Not saying he is better than anyone you mentioned, but were his mic skills as good as his in ring skills? And one more that maybe deserves mentioning, Paul Heyman? Thoughts?

You certainly can make an argument for Jake Roberts or Paul Heyman to be included on a list of the best promos ever.  In the case of Roberts, his soft-spoken style was a huge style change from the "shouting" that was popular at the time.  It is all a matter of opinion.  That said, I tend to think The Rock and Dusty Rhodes tend to rank high above all others.

I've noticed a lot in regular matches with no wild stipulations that when a wrestler gets up on the turnbuckle to do some kinda aerial maneuver, a lot of times, the referee will start a count on them. Why do they do that? Is that considered to be outside the ring? Or is there another reason they start the count?

Using the ropes is illegal, so the referee is administering a five count to get off the ropes.  However, in all my years of watching wrestling, I have never seen someone disqualified for standing on the ropes for too long.

Please, Oh Please don't tell me that HHH is going to do a repeat of what HBK did with the UT, and wrestle him on 2 consecutive WM's? Is this sad thing true?

It does certainly appear to be a direction WWE is strongly considering, given Triple H's promo on Raw.  However, it will probably be several months before we know for sure that HHH-Taker will take place again at Wrestlemania.
