DIVAS AT WRESTLEMANIA, DAVID HART SMITH AND MORE

Will WWE Divas Champion Eve Torres be defending the title at Wrestlemania?

At this point, with one Raw left before Wrestlemania, I tend to doubt it.  There's no storyline in place, no challenger firmly established and throwing it on at the last minute would only take time away from other matches that fans have been looking forward to on the show.

I read where WWE Diva Kelly Kelly was replaced in the six person tag team match at Wrestlemania with The Jersey Shore star Snooki who will team with John Morrison & Trish Stratus against Dolph Ziegler and LayCool. I think thats unfair. Kelly Kelly is a far more better wrestler than her. She really has improved in the ring and to replace her like that is stupid. When I originally heard about the match I was excited. Now I'm disappointed. Even though Trish will take part having Kelly teaming with her makes much more sense than Snooki. Will anyone know her when she is introduced? A shame. Thoughts?

I definitely am not a fan of seeing a wrestler get bumped for a celebrity, but at the same time, it is a business move, and a smart one at that.  With all due respect to Kelly Kelly, I don't see her being left off the show as causing a massive decrease in Wrestlemania's buyrate.  At the same time, the appearance of Snooki has helped garner more mainstream attention for Wrestlemania, and while you and I may not be fans of it, there is a devoted following to Jersey Shore and some of them might actually drop a few bucks to see her in action... and yeah, I do think that is sad too.  Love her or hate her, a large part of the crowd will know who she is.

What is going on with David Hart Smith? I thought he was doing ok, (wrestling wise). Is he another future endeavors guy ? I hope not.

I wish I knew.  When the Hart Dynasty was originally split up, I was expecting both to get an opportunity in singles roles. Tyson Kidd got a very brief push, while Smith quickly became forgotten, even getting bumped out of a reportedly planned spot in the Royal Rumble. I've heard nothing but good things about his in-ring improvement, so I can only hope it means WWE is taking their time and will redebut him with a push post-Wrestlemania.  While he has hit some bumps in the road in his career thus far, he seems to have a ton of potential.

When he was in TNA, Petey Williams had that cool finisher. I am just curious, now that he has been gone a while, why no one in either TNA or WWE has used that move. Seems a shame, for such a cool move to be forgotten and unused.

WWE prefers their wrestlers to stay away from "head dropping" moves, so it isn't much of a surprise that you wouldn't see a flip piledriver in their company.  Amazing Red used to perform the move, but I think it has become so closely associated with Petey Williams, that might be one reason we don't see it in TNA.  Also, both the giver and receiver need to be able to handle performing the move, and not everyone is.

Do you see there being a post-Wrestlemania release of talent?

That is always the fear of undercard wrestlers, although last year, WWE did a big house cleaning before Wrestlemania, and we haven't seen one yet.  When I look at the roster, I don't see a lot of talent that I would categorize as "dead weight" to be honest.  There are young wrestlers that aren't being utilized on Raw and Smackdown, and I'd rather see WWE give some of them a chance rather than just cutting them because they want to trim down the rosters.
