With websites like this and others like it, its getting harder to keep a secret in the wrestling game. What do you think was wrestling's best kept secret since the Internet made the backstage area more public?

I would say John Cena's return at The Royal Rumble.  No one saw that coming or got word before it happened.

With WWE signing some of the bigger independent workers they are starting do mention that there are other wrestling companies than their own. I personally like this but why did they wait so long to do so. When Gail Kim and Christian Cage came back they made it seem like they fell off the face of the earth during their TNA tenures, was that cause it was TNA or was there some other reason?

There is nothing in it for WWE to publicize the other companies.  They are the top dog and have worked hard to develop their products.  If they plug TNA, maybe some of their fans will try the competition.  That doesn't make any sense for them to do.

Your site is the Led Zeppelin of Wrestling sites. You guys rock! If Dave's Robert Plant, who's the Jimmy Page, John Bonham, & John Paul Jones of the website? And is Dave the Robert Plant?

I will be Justin Bieber.  He is a young at least.  Seriously, thanks for the kind words.

Been giving a lot of thought to the notion of wrestlers having mandated time off during the year. The positives outweigh any negatives. For example:

A: Health. Having a set amount of time to heal up nagging injuries can only lengthen a career.

B: Character. Before WCW folded, talents often raised their stock by jumping ship between the big two. Talents do not have that option now. However, wrestlers that have taken time off due to injury or outside projects, have all come back stronger than ever. That time off prevents characters from becoming stale. Jericho, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Edge, Big Show, Orton - all have found increased success by taking time away from the business. Does anyone believe that the eventual return of Triple H and Chris Jericho will be anything but enormous? Even Cena taking small vacations has helped his character.

C: Opportunity. Nature abhors a vacuum and wrestling is no different. Top tier stars taking time off demands someone else be given a real chance at running with the ball.

Your thoughts?

I agree with all of what you said above.  In fact, I have said the same things myself in the past.  Keeping talent healthy and fresh should be one of the top priorities for WWE.

Bischoff vs. The Internet:

A: Obviously there has been a lot of venom and vitriol strung back and forth between Eric Bischoff and Dave. Dave's been highly critical of Bischoff at times, going so far as to being mean spirited. But honestly, Bischoff acts like a douche so often, it's difficult to take Dave to task for it. Have either of you reached out for comment from Bischoff or offered him a forum on PWInsider? Has he ever contacted you personally?

B: If given a forum to speak, how do you think it would play out?

C: To me, Bischoff is a take it or leave it guy. Some nights, he adds to the show - when in small doses. Other nights, his presence overshadows everything else. Used properly, I think he can be an asset as a talent. WWE used him very well as a talent. Dave - I challenge you to say five complimentary things about Bischoff - and be sincere in doing so.

Bischoff doesn't want to talk to me right now.  He doesn't like the criticisms that I have levied on him.  If we ever wants to do an interview with us the door is wide open to him.  If he did an interview with us I would be fair but I wouldn't let him change the direction of the discussion.  He is very good at that.  He often ignores questions by taking the discussion into another area or by asking questions in response.  I would keep asking my questions until he answered and I would not let him distort facts.  I don't hate Bischoff at all.  I agree that I think he could be an asset, for the right price and in the right dosage.

OK, five things.

1. He got a really, really hot woman to marry him.  I could actually make that all five.

2. He got Ted Turner to turn over the checkbook to him in WCW.

3. He can play an excellent character on television if booked properly.

4. He is more man than I will ever be as he made out with that biker chick at The first NWO Souled Out PPV.

5. He knew a good angle when he saw it in Japan and successfully implemented it in WCW.

There you go.
