RIC FLAIR RETURNS TO THE RING (AGAIN), WWE STARTS EARLY THIS SUNDAY AND MORE

By Buck Woodward on 2011-01-21 09:00:00

Big weekend for TNA, as they kick off their European tour in France with a crew that includes Ric Flair wrestling on the events.  Interesting to note that while both Jeff and Matt Hardy are on the tour, they are not scheduled for any tag team matches together this coming week.   WWE has both Raw and Smackdown crews on the road here in the U.S. with them wisely scheduling their Sunday events for 1pm.  With the NFL Playoffs starting at 3pm, this is probably a wise move, as fans can still go to the show and not miss much of the first game.

The Raw crew starts their run tonight, January 21st at the Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, New Jersey with WWE Champion The Miz vs. Randy Orton and John Cena vs. CM Punk as the main events.

Raw then runs on Saturday, January 22nd at the Bryce Jordan Center in State College, Pennsylvania with Miz vs. Orton and U.S. Champion Daniel Bryan vs. Ted DiBiase vs. John Morrison.  John Cena vs. Wade Barrett was listed for the show, but I expect that to be changed to Cena vs. CM Punk, since Barrett is now listed for the Smackdown show in Michigan that night.

Raw runs on Sunday, January 23rd at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, Ohio with a 1pm start time and the following matches advertised:
- WWE Champion The Miz vs. Randy Orton.
- John Cena vs. CM Punk.
- U.S. Champion Daniel Bryan vs. Ted DiBiase.

Raw broadcasts on Monday, January 24th from the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit, Michigan with WWE Champion The Miz vs. World Champion Edge.

The Smackdown crew starts their run on Saturday, January 22nd at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan with World Champion Edge vs. Kane vs. Dolph Ziggler and Big Show vs. Wade Barrett on top.

Smackdown runs on Sunday, January 23rd at the Hammond Civic Center in Hammond, Indiana with a 1pm start time.

Smackdown tapes on Tuesday, January 25th at the US Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, the final WWE TV taping before the Royal Rumble.

TNA starts their European tour today, January 21st in Lyon, France with the following advertised matches on top:
- World Champion Mr. Anderson vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam.
- World Tag Team Champions Beer Money vs. The Motor City Machine Guns.  Given Alex Shelley's injury, this match might be changed.
- Matt Morgan vs. D'Angelo Dinero.
- Kazarian, Jeff Jarrett, Ric Flair, Kurt Angle, Matt Hardy, Madison Rayne, Douglas Williams, Mickie James, Shannon Moore, Angelina Love, Tara and Mark Haskins are also listed as appearing.

Here are the advertised matches for the rest of the shows:

- Rob Van Dam vs. Matt Hardy.
