WWE RAW IN MONTREAL RESULTS: RANDY ORTON VS. WADE BARRETT, SHEAMUS VS. JOHN MORRISON AND MORE

By Mike J. in Montreal on 2010-10-31 20:19:09
The Raw Brand returned to The Bell Centre in Montreal, on a chilly Halloween afternoon, with the Raw World Tour. The show started exactly at 3pm, lots of kids in Cena garb and Mysterio masks.

The first match of the afternoon was The Hart Dynasty going over The Usos, when Tyson Kidd hit a blockbuster neckbreaker on one of the Usos. 30 seconds into the match there was a 'We want Bret' chant.

The second match had Yoshi Tatsu beating Zack Ryder with the Shining Wizard. After the match Nexus (Barrett, Otunga, McGillicutty) attack Yoshi and Barrett does a promo saying how he  will beat Randy Orton in a steel cage and leave Montreal as the new champion.

The third match lasted about a minute, with Ezekiel Jackson and Primo going back and forth flexing and the Jackson hit his finisher.

The fourth match was between Goldust (with the Million Dollar belt) and Ted DiBiase before the match started the anonymous Raw General Manager chimed in and said that there would be a  dance off between the two and before Goldust could finish DiBiase attacked him. The match was back and forth with Goldust going over after hitting the Director's cut.

The fifth match was a Divas tag team match. Gail Kim (dressed as Robin Hood) and Melina (in her Spider-Woman costume) beat Alicia Fox (could've been Dorothy or Bo Peep) and Maryse (Catwoman). Maryse got a pretty loud reaction coming out, Milena pinned Maryse.

The sixth match was for the US Championship, with Daniel Bryan making The Miz (with Alex Riley) tap out to the LeBell Lock in a pretty good match.

After a short intermission, the 7th match was a handicap match between the team of David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty who defeated Mark Henry. Lots of chants for Henry and he received a loud ovation after the match.

The seventh match was Sheamus and John Morrison. Morrison was way over with the crowd, match was back and forth with Morrison hitting a lot of counters. Finish came when Sheamus got his knees up as Morrison came down with Starship Pain and then Sheamus hit the pump kick.

The eighth and final match of the afternoon was a steel cage match for the WWE Championship between Randy Orton and Wade Barrett. Back and forth brawl between the two with McGillicuty and Otunga trying to interfere near the end. Orton hits an RKO for the win.

From where I was sitting there were a lot of people (Adults and Children) who were very disappointed that Cena wasn't there (and his not being there wasn't mentioned before  the show started), they were holding out hope that he would come out to help Orton during the cage match.
