ROH TITLE DEFENSE YANKED FROM GEORGIA INDEPENDENT PCW

By Mike Johnson on 2010-09-16 14:45:48
Platinum Championship Wrestling, which had announced last week that a title vs. title match between NWA champion Adam Pearce and PCW champion Shane Marx at "Sacred Ground: Chapter One" on 9/25 in Kennesaw, Georgia would be a three-way title bout with new ROH champion Roderick Strong were informed by Ring of Honor they were not to bill the match as a title defense.

ROH officials sent PCW word that while they were free to use Strong at their event, the match (which would have turned out to be Strong's first ROH title defense) was not to be sanctioned as a ROH title match.

I believe the deal to have the three way title bout may have been set before Adam Pearce departed ROH, so ROH shot the idea down now that Pearce is no longer involved. ROH officials indicated today that they wanted Strong's first title defense to be inside an ROH ring.
