EXCLUSIVE DETAILS ON THE NEXT WWE JOHN CENA FILM, CHANGES TO EDGE FILM, WWE.COM GOES LOW KI AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2010-08-25 13:41:57

As I broke in the PWInsider.com Elite section a few days ago, John Cena will begin filming his next WWE Studios film "Blood Brothers" in Albuquerque, New Mexico on 10/4. Cena will be playing Sam Cleary, a police officer and one of three brothers (the other two are a Bail Bondsman and a thief) seeking a reward the FBI has offered for the return of a kidnapped American billionaire being held in a Mexican dungeon. The film will mark the first production from WWE Studios in some time that wasn't shot in New Orleans and will be Cena's fourth WWE film.

Meanwhile, WWE began shooting the Edge film "Breaking the Rules" (formerly "Chasing the Hawk") in the New Orleans area earlier this month. Among the cast set for the film beyond Edge are Jamie Kennedy, Jennifer Esposito, Philip Baker Hall, Jessica Walter, and Alicia Witt. The original plan was for Edge to plays a lawyer trying to track down his stolen car. Kennedy is now playing that role while Edge will play a corrupt cop that Kennedy is trying to bring down when his car goes missing. Paul Giammatti was originally offered the role Kennedy is playing.

Kaval has "taken over" the WWE website.  I have to say, having been at his first ever match back in 1998, the former Low Ki has come a long way and if there's ever a definition of work ethic, it's that guy.

The AMC.com featured a blog on Roddy Piper's They Live.

WWE has released a new Miz t-shirt.

The top matches for the Sunday 8/29 Raw matinee house show in Newark, NJ are Randy Orton vs. Sheamus in a Steel Cage, John Cena & Chris Jericho & Daniel Bryan vs. The Nexus, Evan Bourne vs. The Miz for the U.S. title and the Hart Dynasty vs. The Usos for the Unified Tag Team titles.

Dave Whitaker sent the following....Monday's X-Play had a feature previewing the upcoming WWE Smackdown VS Raw 2011 videogame.  It was filmed at a THQ kickoff party and features comments from developers as well as superstars like Kofi Kingston, Sheamus, and JTG.  To see the feature click here
