CM PUNK, SAMOAN WRESTLERS, FOLEY-ECW AND MORE

By Buck Woodward on 2010-07-16 10:00:00

Will Punk be changing his Pepsi tattoo, as their is a new Pepsi logo?

I highly doubt he will change the existing one, but who knows, maybe he will get another!

In a recent issue of the WWE magazine, they said that Samoa has produced the most WWE wrestlers, is that true?

I don't know, and I would imagine it would depend on how you broke down the geographic regions, but there certainly has been a rich tradition of wrestlers hailing from Samoa.

Me and my friends have been discussing storylines, and I don't mean to brag or nothing but they seem to be far better than the ones going on at the moment. My question is, how does one get involved in writing for wrestling promotions, whether it be WWE/TNA, National or regional promotions? Would a degree help (I am about to finish a Bacholer of Arts in Creative Writing at Uni).

A degree wouldn't hurt, but if you really want to catch WWE's eye, get some experience writing for television shows.  WWE seems to love the idea of hiring people with TV experience for their team.  Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of creative positions in WWE, TNA works with a small group (and doesn't hire like WWE) and outside of that, you're looking at a situation where you would most likely be working for free for an independent company.

So many wrestlers have changed the business over the years. Who do you think will have the most lasting effect on the industry? I believe it will be between Hogan, Flair and Austin.

I think it has to be Hogan.  It is hard to comprehend with the way wrestling is seen now, but it's place in pop culture was vastly different before WWF made Hogan into a household name.  He transcended the business and was the public image of professional wrestling as it grew in the 80's to become a staple of cable television.

So there is an ECW-angle in TNA at the moment. Considering he is under contract and that he is far past his prime, what are the chances of having Mick Foley come in as an authority-like character/spokesperson for them? Perhaps like JJ Dillon in the Four Horsemen or Gary Hart back in WCCW.

I suppose Foley could be brought in with them, although I don't know if a majority of fans still link Foley with ECW the way they do Dreamer, Raven, Richards and Rhino.  It certainly isn't out of the question though.
