VINCE MCMAHON WORRYING ABOUT TNA, DIVAS AT WRESTLEMANIA, BRET HART AND MORE

By Buck Woodward on 2010-03-18 10:00:00

Do you think that Vince McMahon is starting to get worried about TNA ? And if he is, what do you think his plans are to keep WWE number 1 ?

I don't know if "worried" is the right word or not.  Certainly, TNA moving to Monday nights opposite Raw has made TNA more of a presence on the WWE radar than ever before, and Vince is well aware of that.  However, when you're doing a 3.7 and they're doing a .8, you're not going in panic mode.  If the ratings gap closes, then Vince will get worried, and I imagine we'll see Raw get a lot more "loaded" with big matches in response.

I was wondering if you have heard any news on Lita being asked to be a guest host for Monday Night Raw? Or what the plans for the Divas at Wrestlemania 26 are, as far as if WWE is interested or has contacted Lita, or Trish, in coming in and appearing at this years event. Last year they wanted to center it around Lita, Trish and a third former diva, but has WWE had any interest in bringing in Lita at this years Mania.

I have heard nothing about Lita or Trish Stratus appearing at Wrestlemania or Raw.  In fact, with only one Raw left before Wrestlemania, we don't even have a Divas match announced for the card, and to be blunt, no one seems to be complaining about it!

All rumors have Vince vs Bret Hart at WrestleMania this year.  I keep reading an argument online that Bret can't participate in such a match due to his cashing out a Lloyd's of London insurance policy that saw him go to court to prove he was unable to wrestle for a living.  Any idea how the insurance pay-out may put a snag in the match?  Or will Bret have a wrestler represent him in the match ala Donald Trump several years back.

Bret Hart will be taking on Vince McMahon at Wrestlemania.  For health (and probably insurances) reasons, there are things Bret will not be able to do, and he cannot take shots to the head.  However, Bret seems confident that despite any limitations put on him, he and Vince will be able to have an entertaining match at the PPV.

I notice since Hulk took over TNA that the X division hasn't been pushed, there was no X-Division match on impact! tonight (2/4) and on TNA.com when they list matches to vote for they don't list the X division matches the last few weeks. What's going on?

I agree, the X-Division seemed to take a backseat during the first few weeks of the Hogan-era in TNA.  However, things have settled a bit and this past week we saw TNA clearly define X-Division heels (Daniels, MCMG, Williams) and faces (Generation Me, Red, Kazarian, Moore).  It would seem the X-Division will still be a part of TNA, however it probably won't have the amount of time it had in the past, simply because there are other items taking up time on TV now.

In the Hulk TNA era who is the booker or in the booking staff?

Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are pretty much the bookers, with Vince Russo and others a part of the writing team that puts together the shows.
