THE END OF THE RAW GUEST HOST CONCEPT, BRET HART CREATIVE CONTROL, WHERE DOES SHEAMUS GO FROM HERE, TAKER VS. MICHAELS AND MORE

By Dave Scherer on 2010-03-08 10:00:00

Am I one of the few who thinks that The Wrestlemania 25 match between Michaels and Taker was not what everyone claims it to be? There were a lot of botches in that match and I'm sorry there were at least 5-10 matches I thought were better.

You answered your own question when you said "what everyone claims it to be".  Yes, you are in the minority here.

Any idea if Bret Hart negotiated a "creative control" clause into his contract now that he is back with WWE?

Formally no, I don't believe he does.  However given that he doesn't need to work for WWE and could leave at any time if he doesn't like what they are doing, he in effect does have it.

OK, so a recent Q&A question was about who would induct the Ultimate Warrior if he had accepted it, and you came up with a joke answer in the form of three fictional characters. I mean, come on! After all that the Ultimate Warrior did for the WWE(F) back in his day that is the best you could come up with? And your criteria would be that they could speak his language? Shouldn’t it be the Iron Sheik, whose acceptance speech was just as confusing as a Warrior promo?

That is a great choice for induction.  Yes, The Iron Sheik would be perfect.  Maybe he would even humble Mr. Warrior for all of the fans in attendance.  As for all he did for WWF all I can tell you is that I detested their product when Warrior was on top, so I am not the one to ask that question to.

There have been reports of possibly ending the guest host thing with Steve Austin on the 15th. Is there any merit to this and who do you think might be named as GM?

It was a rumor that was going around for a few days but it's obviously not true.  Will they end it in the future?  I would guess at some point they will but right now they like the mainstream buzz they get out of having celebrities (some real, some not-so-real) hosting the show every week.

In your opinion, what happens to Sheamus now that he lost the WWE championship in the Elimination Chamber match? Does he continue as a top heel and top contender for the title or does he somehow get lost in the shuffle given "Creative's" lack of creativity (pardon the pun)?

If I were booking the company he would stay in the main event mix.  I think he has done well thus far and is a different character at the top of the card.  What scares me is the clear pattern that WWE creative has shown with young guys that get pushed to the top.  Recently, after getting up to a certain point it seems like WWE then breaks guys down for a while before possibly giving them a second run.  After what happened with Brock Lesnar, where he got the boo boo face after his big push was over and he had to start putting over The Undertaker, they are gun shy about giving any young talent too much, too soon.  Sheamus may have to pay the price for this.
