Why do you think the WWE version of ECW failed? Do you think WWE could have made it work if they had kept it extreme?
From day one, Vince McMahon never planned to let ECW be what it was "back in the day". His goal was to lure in the old time ECW fans and then give them his vision of wrestling instead. This never made sense since many of the people he was trying to lure back left because they didn't like his vision of wrestling in the first place. I have always felt that if he had let it be a true ECW style product, he would still be doing a 2 rating or more on Tuesday nights. If it weren't for his ego, he could have run ECW and WCW as separate, different brands with the distinct styles that attracted the fans that didn't like the WWE style product. No one will ever convince me he didn't make a colossal mistake here, and it was all because he felt that he had to force his vision of wrestling on fans whether they wanted it or not. So yes, I believe he could have kept ECW and WCW as distinct brands that did not look like the WWE product and made a ton of money.
Do you see star power all over Matt Morgan? Don't you think TNA is dropping the ball with him teaming with Hernandez?
I think that if was pushed as a legitimate top talent, Morgan has a good chance of getting over. I could see them breaking him away from Hernandez and giving him a shot.
So Sheamus has been champion for 2 PPVs now, yet he still gets no respect form everyone. Everyone comes out and makes fun of him and doesn't take him seriously. He's now proven himself legitimately on multiple occasions yet no one takes him seriously in any promos. I feel like this really hurts his character and makes him feel like an "Interim Champion." Everyone magically turns into DX when addressing him. The only time I felt like he was legitimate was when he was facing Orton, because Randy wanted the Championship more than to make fun of him. Do you agree?
You haven't been listening to Elite audio because Sheamus has been getting a ton of respect from me. I think he has done a great job after being given a chance and I am on the record as saying that he should remain in the top spot. I also think he has been booked pretty strongly by WWE. He has beaten top guys and left others laying. He is coming across as a legitimate bad ass whose work has been solid. I am typing this before the Elimination Chamber PPV but I am very happy with how WWE has booked him so far and even happier that he has stepped up and accepted the challenge. If people aren't seeing the potential in him, they just aren't looking.
So far it seems WWE is more behind DiBiase than Rhodes, once he is done with Rhodes and Orton and becomes a singles wrestler, what do you think the chances are WWE puts the Million Dollar Man gimmick on the young DiBiase?
I hope like hell that there is zero chance. Recycling an old gimmick would just weigh DiBiase down. He needs to break out and stand on his own. Being a retread of his father would be a huge mistake.
When Vince did the million dollar giveaway, was that really randomly chosen people or do they pick the people based on markets they want to be in and such, like someone from NY winning because that is a major market for then and want people from there watching and happy. Are any of their contests (mag or tv) really random?
Everyone in the company said that the giveaway was not predetermined in any way.
