THE NEW MONDAY NIGHT WAR, PERCY PRINGLE, TNA KNOCKOUTS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2010-02-21 10:00:00
>Monday Night Wars redux- 1/4/2010.  New stories seem to be going up constantly through the day, most regarding the TNA vs WWE shows.  How has the site’s traffic been?  Huge spike? Normal Monday?  If answered after ratings come in, is the site’s traffic commensurate to with what the shows did for ratings?  (spike for WWE or bigger than expected TNA number)

We absolutely had a spike in traffic due to the increased interest on 1/4.  Hopefully we'll see that going forward come March!

I'm watching TNA before Raw comes on, and they just showed Hogan on his way with a police escort. ARE YOU KIDDING ME???  He has been promoting this for so long now, and he can't get there in time?  This storyline is already in the dumper before it even starts. It sounds like the same old Hogan crap..promote yourself first and everything else second. Gawd I have always hated the man, and now I realize why!

The funny part was that when he came out, he said he was backstage all day.  I don't have a problem with them promoting he's on the way, since the entire point was to build attention to Hogan's debut at 9 PM going head to head with WWE's Raw opening.  You have to build hype to get a buzz.

I just have a little question to solve a bet with a friend. Did Hulk Hogan ever had the Jimi Hendrix voodoo child theme song while working for Vince McMahon? Thank you very much and keep up the great work.

He used it for several weeks in WWE, but mainly only used it while working for WCW.

With a new era in TNA under the shadow of Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff how will their presence/influence effect TNA's Knockout Division? With the suggestion of a more focused spotlight on young established male stars where does that leave the much improved Knockouts? The same? TNA's Impact! has featured on average two womens matches per week. Will that change? Will there be one a week? What role will the women take under the Hogan-Bischoff administration?

It has meant much less female wrestling on the shows so far, but I think that's just due to the changes in the company as the new regime takes hold more than anything else.

I recently read that 2010/11 could be the last years of Kane's wrestling career due to many nagging injuries. Along with The Undertakers worrying limited schedule, do you think WWE will look to do a storyline that eliminates both wrestlers with a possibility of Percy Pringle making a return?

I don't know where that report might have originated, since we haven't heard any talk of a Kane retirement.  I would certainly hope and if and when those characters are given a sendoff, Pringle is brought back because he was  HUGE part of their success.
