Khali had been on an official absence, which expired this past December. Khali had filed for a five year's leave of absence from the force under "extraordinary" circumstances, due to his professional wrestling and acting endeavors.
It was decided that Khali was not entitled to additional leave. He was officially suspended for failing to return to duty as scheduled, Arunpal Singh, Commandant of 7th Batallion of Punjab Armed Police, told TargetIndia.com.
Khali held the post of assistant subinspector for the force. Khali is currently taking time off from WWE while healing an injured knee he needed surgery on.
