WWE Management informed the wrestlers heading to Europe they were to limit their usage of twitter while on tour and going forward as the company wasn't happy with certain comments made towards fans, specifically late at night when performers were done partying. I was told there wasn't any specific ban of public usage of social networking sites by management, but it has been considered dating back a few weeks after comments made by Chavo Guerrero to fans about not realizing the business was a work while insulting them. Guerrero later apologized for the comments, blaming his temper and that he had been out.
There's been some talk about rolling out more WWE DVDs in the Blu-Ray format in 2010. Currently in North America, only Wrestlemania is given the Blu-Ray treatment. Additional shows are released in that format by Silvervision in the UK. One concern the company is working out is how older footage would look once it's converted to that format.
For those of you who like to set your DVRs early, the WWE-themed Dinner
Impossible episode will air on Food Network this Wednesday 11/11. If
you've never seen the show, the premise has chef Robert Irvine sent somewhere
and then given a meal to put together for a large group with very little notice
whole performing certain tasks. It's a fun show and well worth checking
out in general. The description for the WWE episode, which will feature Jim
Ross, The Miz and others is as follows:
WWE: A Mission on the Mat
Robert is taken to the mat as he joins up with some of World Wrestling
Entertainment Superstars at Summer Slam, WWE's biggest summertime event.
Stephanie McMahon gives Robert his mission to feed 300 WWE VIPs a "Superstar"
meal in just nine hours, this means every dish he creates must be based on some
of WWE's Superstars' signature moves such as Frog Splash, Clawhold, and Knife
Edge Chop. Stephanie is center ring joined by her seven foot tall, 400 pound
"enforcer", Big Show, who's there to make sure Robert knows that failure is not
an option!
WWE has an article catching up with the one and only Percy "Paul Bearer" Pringle at this link. Percy is truly one of the good guys in the business.
