WWE DEVELOPING UNDERTAKER ORIGIN FILM

By Mike Johnson on 2009-11-02 14:02:41
As I broke last week in my PWInsider.com Elite audio, World Wrestling Entertainment is developing a potential feature film that would work as an Undertaker origin story. The as of yet untitled film is in the development stage and would be a Western set in the late 1800s.

The project does not have any writers or actors attached at this point, but is something WWE Studios has in their pipeline for 2010-2011. The current projected budget is in the $3.5 million range, which would indicate it's a planned direct to DVD film.

WWE's latest DVD film offering, the Marine 2 starring Ted DiBiase, will be released 12/29 on standard DVD and Blu-Ray formats. Big Show and John Cena are currently shooting film projects in the New Orleans area for release next year as well.
