WHAT IS EXPECTED OF WWE DEVELOPMENTAL TALENTS, WHEN PERFORMERS ARE TOLD WHAT IS EXPECTED OF THEM, NAME CHANGES AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2009-09-29 10:00:00
Make-up, the wrestlers themselves or is there a make-up artist backstage?

It depends.  Some wrestlers, like Sting, make themselves up with face paint but others have an artist do it.  WWE maintains a full-time makeup artist for their TV productions, the same as any other television series.

When the wrestlers in WWE appear at the arena where their scheduled to wrestle how are they nornally told of the plans for them that evening? Who they will be facing. Scenario. Outcome. Things like that. Are the wrestlers, male and female, informed individually or as a group?

It all depends.  WWE usually has a Producer tell the wrestlers he will be working with tonight on house shows.  When it comes to TV, its usually writers who relay the information to the wrestlers.  Workers are usually given a basic idea of where they are going storyline wise a few weeks in advance but usually, what they are doing on a given show can change up until the point they hit the ring.  A good example of this is Undertaker originally being booked to win the World title at Survivor Series (the TV blurb for the following week of Smackdown listed "How Undertaker won the World championship) but it was changed a few days before to Punk retaining with the finish they did.

Recently FCW female wrestler Serena Deeb went from that name to Serena Mancini to her current name Mia Mancini. Why the change? I loved Serena Mancini. Why do wrestling promotions change some of their wrestlers names? When is a wrestler normally informed of the change and the reason for it if any?

WWE wants to own her ring name and give her a persona they want to use.  Thus, the change.  The wrestlers are told when they are given the names but at times are also asked for suggestions and their ideas.

What is wrestler Gene Snitsky doing these days?

Snitsky lives in Pennsylvania and has been doing some independents.  He is currently recovering from injuries suffered in a car accident a few weeks back.

When a wrestler, male and female, are signed by WWE and sent to FCW what exactly are the officials there hope to see? What is expected of wrestlers in FCW?

They are expected to work hard and listen to direction with the idea that they will improve to the point (or help themselves develop a character) that WWE's writers will want to bring to the main roster and utilize.  Until then, they are expected to show up for the training drills and classes, work the house shows and TV tapings and whatever else is asked of them.  They are basically being paid for the privilege of learning, something most pay to do.
