KURT ANGLE'S BEST WWE WORK, VINCE MCMAHON RETIRING, BROOKE HOGAN IN THE RING AND MORE

By Buck Woodward on 2009-09-25 10:00:00

I was wondering with Kurt Angle not being in WWE anymore, in your own opinion can you list some of your favorite matches he had while in the WWE?

Just to name five, I will go with Shane McMahon at King Of The Ring 2001, Chris Benoit at Royal Rumble 2003, Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania XXI, The Undertaker at No Way Out 2006 and Brock Lesnar at Summerslam 2003.

Regarding Vince McMahon my question is seeing as how Vince is such a public figure in the eyes of the WWE synergy do you ever see him retiring?

Never.  As long as he is physically able to do so, he'll be involved in running WWE.

With all the talk of 5 star matches, has there ever been a 5 star tag team match and if not what is the highest rated tag team match of all time?

Star ratings is just a method that fans use to rate wrestling matches, and it is totally subjective.  Yes, there have been tag team matches that some fans will say were "Five Star" bouts, but that is just their opinion.  There's no scientific basis for the ratings.  I could tell you that Dory & Terry Funk vs. Bruiser Brody & Jimmy Snuka is a ten star match, but it really is just my opinion.

This is probably the stupidest question in the world. Has there ever been a suggestion of Brooke Hogan, Hulk Hogan's daughter, of taking part in a wrestling match, alongside her dad?

Are you kidding?  We get much dumber questions on a regular basis!  Anyway, yes, there has been a suggestion of her getting into wrestling, and even Hulk himself has suggested it.  Luckily, it has never gotten to the "serious consideration" phase at this time.

I grew up during the era of Hulk Hogan in WWF and Ric Flair in NWA/WCW. I enjoyed both guys immensely and respected both of their styles as champions. I loved that fact that Flair was so untouchable and thwarted many face challengers. My question is whether you think WWF/E has (in the past 25 years) known how to build a long term effective heel champion who doesn't simple squash all of challengers. I have some respect for Triple H, but I can't use him as an example because all of his jobs, you can reflect on the Steiners, Goldbergs, Jerichos and Ortons that he screwed over. Other than Yokozuna, I can not think of a good entertaining long term heel champion. Your thoughts?

WWE has just never seem to been about the "heel" champion.  First it was Bruno Sammartino, then it was Bob Backlund, then Hulk Hogan.  It wasn't until Yokozuna that there was a long-term heel champion, and once the 90's began, the titles started switching around a lot more frequently.  I suppose you could point out JBL's run as WWE Champion, but it could be argued that his title wasn't "really the top title" at that point.  WWE just hasn't been the kind of company to have a heel on top for a long run.
