UPDATE ON THE ANNOUNCED SHANE DOUGLAS-ECW REUNION SHOW

By Mike Johnson on 2009-08-31 09:27:10
Since a few readers have asked about the announced "November to Remember" show that Shane Douglas had announced last spring and claimed would be the "final" reunion of ECW talents, there is still no word on whether the show will actually take place.

The planned original site, the former ECW Arena, opted not to house the event when Douglas publicly announced it before signing a contract with the venue. Douglas had announced a 11/7 date for the event during an ECW-themed reunion convention in Allentown, PA but the Arena was already scheduled to host a stand-up comedy event that night.

In recent months, Douglas had been looking into running the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City, which has housed PPVs from the original ECW and WWE as well as Ring of Honor events.  The word making the rounds was that Douglas wasn't happy with the price quoted to him for the venue, feeling it was much more than he believed ROH was playing for the building. So, it doesn't appear that venue has been secured, either.

No talents have been officially booked the potential show as of this writing, although several originally told Douglas they would work the date when he announced it. There have been no updates to the official website for the event since last April.

So, that's where it all stands at this point.
