JEFF AND MATT HARDY GOING INTO THE WWE HALL OF FAME, AUSTIN VS. COACHMAN, DAFFNEY'S TNA STATUS AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2009-08-30 10:00:00

So we all know that Linda McMahon fought and was able to make it onto the Connecticut Board of Education and WWE has since dumbed their programming down to be more kid-friendly.   My question is - why did Linda want on the board? Why is it important and what difference does it make to WWE whether she's on it or not?

Well, the answer to that is simple based on the fact she's looking into a Senate run.  Linda obviously has political ambitions and World Wrestling Entertainment would obviously be well served to have someone loyal to the company in a position of power.

If Jeff Hardy were to retire this year and never return, do you think he would be inducted into the hall of  fame sometime down the line? I feel there were enough special moments in his career, like TLC, to warrant the induction. What about Matt? Do you think they would go in separately or as a team?

I think that, if anything, Jeff Hardy secured his place as a definite WWE Hall of Famer.  He drew money on top of the company, had incredible performances despite injuries and the fact that he could have mailed it in on the way out and he helped bring CM Punk to a new level as a main eventer.  I doubt we've seen the last Jeff Hardy match in WWE, but in my mind, unless something unforeseen happens, he's going in that Hall one day.

Matt, as well, will end up there one day, but I think with the last year of his career being so hampered with injuries (the fact he was wrestling with an abdominal tear blows my mind as unless you've suffered such a thing - and I have - you have no true understanding of the constant pain one is in with that injury) and the fact that in terms of charisma, Jeff has always been stronger, he's a little behind the curve there.  That said, they have Matt in a babyface role, which he was always stronger at and he's extremely driven as a performer.  So, I'd expect the next year to be a complete 180 from Matt's last year.

In the end, they both go in.  My guess is they get separate inductions - on the same night.

Has Daffney been released by TNA? I was so glad to see her again.

Daffney is still under contract with TNA and wrestled Sarita last Thursday on Impact.  If TNA let her go, they'd be insane.

Taboo Tuesday 2005, Stone Cold vs. the Coach was advertised and Austin even appeared on Raw to build the match up. Now obviously the match never happened, but I'm curious as to why? I heard rumors Austin had no interest in the match, but if that was the case why even start the buildup?

Austin was going to be booked to lose to Coachman and when he learned this, wanted no part of the match, feeling it made no sense and was a dumb for him to return to the ring with his neck issues for such a meaningless situation that would then be immediately forgotten.  Austin was right.

Do you have any idea why #1 Jeff Hardy would want to leave the WWE and #2 why the WWE  wouldn't throw all kinds of cash and perks at him to keep him? He is one of the most over wrestlers in the biz and is a lot fresher then Cena who's act has long since gotten old and stale. Why don't they want to keep him?

Trust me, WWE wanted Jeff Hardy to remain and as we first broke here on the site months ago, were scrambling to sign him to a new deal, to the point they even offered Hardy a one year contract just to keep him locked in.  Hardy wanted time off, he wanted to heal and he wanted to work on outside projects with his band and a potential reality series.  So, both sides agreed to leave on good terms and in the end, they will end up working together again.
