USA Network has announced more details on the various guest stars that will appear on Psych this season, including this tidbit on John Cena's guest appearance: "Cena will play Ewan O'Hara, a special ops soldier and brother to Maggie Lawson's character, Detective Juliet O'Hara on "Psych." In this episode entitled "You Can't Handle This Episode" he will help solve the murder of two soldiers and take down an officer involved in weapons trading." You can read more about the guest stars at this link. Thanks to Mike Informer for sending that link along.
Thanks to Devlin for the following. ... For all those Australian WWE fans, The Big Show will be appearing on “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?” on Monday 10th of August @ 7:30pm on Channel 10.
Mike also sent along this link, to an article in the Memphis Flyer regarding the upcoming special election to determine a new Mayor Of Memphis. The article notes that some are concerned that the large number of possible (and not necessarily serious) candidates could result in unusual voting results. Of course, Jerry Lawler is one of the names in the mix, but City Council Chairman Myron Lowery (who is the acting Mayor, and is in the running for the spot) has dismissed Lawler's run as a publicity stunt. Lowery went so far as to say in a radio interview that he will pull his own "stunt" and challenge Lawler to a wrestling match. The article notes that Lawler, who garnered 12% of the vote the last time he ran, will be devoting six-days-a-week to his campaign this year, as opposed to two-days-a-week last year. I'm not saying Lawler will win, but Lowery might want to take him a little more seriously. Just take a look at the Governor Of California.
As we reported earlier, WWE will be running an event at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York on December 30th. The house show marks the first time, after years of attempts, that WWE has been able to run the venue. Because it is part of the Syracuse University campus, the Dome had turned down attempts by WWE to book the building, usually claiming content issues. However, director Pat Campbell now says "We changed our philosophy somewhat. It's a no-brainer for us to do this here. There's a good market in Syracuse for it, and there's a lot of interest by the organization to come here." So, is it TV-PG that changed their minds ... or the dollar signs? I think it's the latter.
