Your thoughts on WWE potentially moving forward with Uncle Howdy as a character? Part of me is ok with it, especially if the Rotunda family is on board, as an ongoing tribute to Bray. But part of me feels like maybe they should go in a different direction - too sad a reminder of Bray, or maybe even slightly exploiting his death.
I honestly think that without Bray Wyatt, I don’t want to see that character again. It would just remind me of Bray’s passing, which bums me out. I would pass on that if I were WWE. If they can find another role for Bo Dallas, great, but not that.
What did you think about Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns’ performance at the Night One WrestleMania Press Conference?
I loved it! The first guy didn’t follow the rules. The female reporter booed Reigns? I would have kicked her out too. I thought it was great stuff.
What can Tony Khan learn from WWE and its build to WrestleMania and the shows themselves?
Everything. Literally everything. There is nothing positive that AEW does that can hold a candle to WWE. Nothing.
I started listening to Jim Cornette’s shows because you guys mentioned them here on the site. This week I heard his co-host Brian take a nasty shot at PWInsider. I thought you were friends with Cornette. What the hell?
I get along well with Jim. I don’t know much about his co-host. I never even heard of him until Jim made him his sidekick. Whatever his issue is with me, I couldn’t care less. I don't know a thing about the guy and I would be glad to keep it that way. I don’t worry about what people I don’t respect think about me. But yeah, if his sidekick is going to take shots at us, I won’t go out of my way to promote or help them in the future. They don't need my help so they should be fine with that.
I just read the article you posted about a question about Vince McMahon going to AEW. I brought that up at a Mania party this past Saturday night. I said what if. I mean WWE wants no part of him but if Tony Khan wanted to make some noise and Vince being Vince, would it, could it actually happen? As the old Vince adage would be, Never Say Never. They are trying to get viewers Wednesday for the video from the UK and adding Vince would def be a draw for them but I am also sure some of the talent and sponsors would not be happy with it and the AEW fans (if they were the same ones from when AEW started, rabid and excited) then they would probably have some chants directed his way.
Why I wouldn’t do it if I were AEW? Vince has the lawsuit, and maybe a Federal investigation, hanging over his head. WWE divorced themselves from him for that reason. It would be stupid for AEW to embrace it (but as you mentioned with the video footage, AEW likes doing the stupid). More so, what’s in it for Vince? He’s an old man who recently had serious surgery. He has a ton of money. I just don’t see him wanting to go on the minor league show after all he has done in the industry.
