What are your thoughts on WWE Speed?  Do you like the idea or do you think it's too much wrestling?

I haven't watched it to be honest.  It's just excess programming to me and part of that is because it’s just wrestling for the sake of wrestling.  As  I have said many times, I have been watching for decades now.  I have seen all of the moves.  I only want to watch a show where there is good booking and storylines that get me interested in why the matches are happening.  I get why they are doing it, revenue, but I am not interested in three minute matches that don’t mean anything.

We all know AEW's continued existence is dependent on Shahid Khan continuing to allow Tony to spend his inheritance.  Even though it seems like he's been happy to allow Tony to burn the money he has, and assuming AEW doesn't have one yet, what do you think the chances are he's waiting to see what the next TV deal looks like before deciding whether or not to cut Tony/AEW off?

I have no idea what Shad’s view is on his son’s wrestling company.  I also don’t know how much AEW is losing right now and how much loss is acceptable to Papa Khan.  Tony was very cocky in his tweet to Eric Bischoff about AEW’s new rights deal so I hope he is correct about what the company will get on their new deal. I hope that means he has a good deal done and that we don’t have to find out if Papa Khan has a loss figure in mind for when AEW will be no more.

I know Nia Jax got a lot of hate in her first WWE run, but I have really enjoyed her work this run. Nia has leaned into the hate and become entertainingly smarmy on the mic and humorously dismissive of the fans. Also, her 2 TV matches against Becky and PLE main event match against Rhea - were both really good. Even some podcasters like Bischoff and Konnan are starting to give Nia props. Lastly, I was at Day 1 and Nia was the hottest heel after Jinder Mahal. Do you think a case can be made that Nia Jax could be the most improved wrestler in 2023, with honorable mention to Liv Morgan and Tiffany Stratton?

Nia has been really good on this run.  I have said that a few times now.  I am not into rating things like most improved but she has been really, really good on this run.

Is there anything that you genuinely think AEW is currently doing well or even great?

The one thing I can say that they are doing well is that the provide a lot of action to fans who want that and don’t care about storylines or character development.  They give the core audience what they want.  Now, is that a good thing from a business standpoint or long term?  Considering they are coming off of their lowest viewership for Dynamite in almost three years and lowest number in the demo in almost four, probably not.

Do you think there’s any danger of Cody not finishing the story at Mania and Roman retaining?

Sure, there is always that chance.  Would I do it?  No, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t a chance that WWE might do it.  I think it’s time and it needs to happen, but Paul Levesque could have something else in mind.
