MY TOP THREE WRESTLERS RIGHT NOW, WHY I WOULDN’T WORRY ABOUT TONY KHAN’S MONEY IF I WERE HHH, ROCK>HOGAN AND MORE

I love that when you don’t know something for sure you say that, and then make it clear you are offering what you think could be the case.  Why don’t more sites do that?

I wish I knew.  I am 62 and when I was coming up I was taught that I owe the reader/listener the truth and I always adhered to that.  If I know something, I say so.  If I don’t, I will just give you my analysis.  I don’t lie to my community the way that some other outlets do.  Thanks for appreciating that.

How long before Shad Khan stops giving Tony access to the bank account?  He has made 3 big deal contracts in so many weeks and the results have not been good.  If WBD does not provide a big money tv deal, do you think Shad pulls the plug?

I have no idea what Shad is thinking.  I know he has said that he is happy to give Tony part of his inheritance now to do what he loves, which makes him a pretty damn good father (and in my opinion much better than Vince McMahon, given how he sold his company out from under his kids).  My guess is that there is an acceptable figure to Shad as to how much Tony can lose on AEW each year and as long as he doesn’t exceed that, AEW will probably be fine.  But again, that is just a guess.  I think the first sign we will see of trouble is if belt tightening starts in AEW and we haven’t seen that yet.

What can WWE offer to counter Tony Khan’s endless supply of cash to attract free agents or even just to retain top talent? Isn’t everyone up for grabs now? I would be worried if I were WWE. Would you be concerned if you were HHH?

I answered a version of this the other day but if I were HHH, no I would not be concerned.  Tony can buy stars that HHH is making but the cupboard is full in WWE.  I fully believe he can make new stars for every one that leaves.  Plus, Tony has shown that in most cases he doesn’t know what to do to maximize the new hires once he gets them as other than CM Punk, none have really moved the needle.  In a way, I would be kind of happy if I were Triple H.  If he keeps overpaying for talents and not getting any boost from them, that will benefit WWE in the long run because that kind of spending probably won’t be sustainable.

I've been thinking about this for a long time but can't seem put all the pieces together. Hulk Hogan is arguably the biggest wrestling star of all-time. Why do you think he never reached that same level of Hollywood success and pop culture aura outside of the ring as Dwayne Johnson? Hogan in the 80s should've been on par with a Stallone or a Schwarzenegger where they are legendary but he somehow doesn't really connect with the younger generation today. On the other hand, Rock is popular and loved by people of all ages, young and old.

The answer is pretty simple to me, Hogan was a one-trick pony.  He was what he was, brother.  Rock is adaptable and much more range.  He can be serious, funny, sing a little and own the room with his charm and charisma.  He can be over the top or subtle.  Hogan was as subtle as a kick in the balls and didn’t really have the cool factor that Rock does.  Rock also has a great mind for business and it’s served him well.

Who are the top 3 male wrestlers between WWE/AEW in your opinion? Is Will Osprey one of them? I used to watch AEW in the beginning but I lost interest over the last 2 years because of lack of character and storylines. But I read from some wrestling websites that Will Ospreay is the greatest wrestler in the world, so I wanted your opinion.

First off, I like Will a lot.  He’s got a ton of talent and potential.  With that said, there’s no way in the world that someone who understands business, aka making money and not just saying my favorite wrestler is the best because, well, I like him, would say that about Ospreay.  Why?  He doesn’t draw the big money.  And not for nothing, the hype for his big match as an AEW wrestler drew the lowest quarter hour of the night.  That doesn’t happen if you are the best in the world. The best draw fans, they don’t shed them.  The main “reporter” claiming that about Will is the same guy who said that UFC and AEW would overtake WWE.  He said Kenny Omega was the best in the world before he jumped on the Ospreay Train.  He has a history of being very wrong and he is again in this case.  I feel bad for Will.  In fact, if I were him I would contact Uncle Dave and ask him to stop putting me over because I don’t need his kiss of death that comes with his anointment.  So with that said, to me it’s about being a great draw and have the ability to work compelling matches (as opposed to spot fests that go 100 miles an hour and don’t tell a story).  Therefore, no one from AEW makes the list.  I will give you my top three but they are not in order.  You can place the one, two and three next to them however you like.  Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre.
