MAE YOUNG CLASSIC EPISODE FOUR REPORT: SANE VS BLANCHARD, LERAE VS MICHELLE, EVANS VS CONTI, GONZALEZ VS SAVOY FINISHES OFF THE FIRST ROUND

Three quarters of the second round has been set with Princesa Sugehit, Abbey Laith, Piper Niven, Mia Yim, Shayna Baszler, Bianca Belair, Mercedes Martinez, Dakota Kai, Rachel Evers, Rhea Ripley, Toni Storm, and Serena Deeb advancing in the first three episodes of the Mae Young Classic.  Which four women will advance on this episode as we complete the first round?

We are at Full Sail University and your announcers are Jim Ross and Lita.

We take a look at the participants in the opening match.

Renee Michelle she says she is from Washington D.C.  She says she is excited to put all of her effort and hard work into this.  She wants to show that the women can be just as good or better than the men.  She says she has the athleticism and ambition to win.

Candice LeRae says she considers herself a modern day Mighty Mouse.  She is not a high flyer, she is a high risk wrestler.  Some people think that her husband, Johnny Gargano, is why she is here, but she told him that she wanted no help.  She wants this more than anything else.

We see Candice’s husband Johnny Gargano in the crowd.

Match Number One:  Renee Michelle versus Candice LeRae

They lock up and Candice with a wrist lock.  Renee with a reversal.  Candice with a reversal of her own and Renee with another reversal.  Renee with a side head lock and shoulder tackle.  Candice with a rollup but Renee with a crucifix for a near fall.  Candice with a cover but Renee with a bridge to escape.  Candice with another near fall.

They shake hands again and Renee with a side head lock but Candice with a jaw breaker and a springboard arm drag.  Candice sends Renee into the turnbuckles and then Candice with a missile drop kick for a near fall.  Candice with an arm bar.  Renee with a face buster and a kick to the knee and a round kick to the head.  Renee with a snap mare driver for a near fall. 

Renee with round kicks but Candice with a modified Codebreaker and both women are down.  Candice with a clothesline and back elbow followed by a jumping neck breaker for a near fall.  Candice with forearms and chops in the corner.  The referee pulls Candice out of the corner and then Candice misses a splash into the corner.  Renee with a running punch to Candice.  Candice with a forearm and a drop kick to the knee.  Renee with a rollup and a spinning back heel kick for a near fall.  Renee misses a moonsault and Candice with a running drop kick and she gets a near fall.

Candice puts Renee on the turnbuckles and Candice joins her and she hits Miss LeRae’s Wild Ride for the three count.

Winner:  Candice LeRae (Advances to face winner of Nicole Savoy versus Reina Gonzalez)

We take a look at the next two participants.

Lacey Evans says she is the Lady of NXT.  She is a wife, mother, sister, and she takes pride in what women fight for all over the world.  If her opponent thinks she is a pushover, they have never seen her train.  She proves that anything is possible.

Taynara Conti mentions that she is the first Brazilian and she is making history.  Her opponent will tap out if she puts them into one of her submissions.  She says she will use her fifteen years of experience to win.

We see Alexa Bliss in the crowd.

Match Number Two:  Taynara Conti versus Lacey Evans

They lock up and Conti with a waist lock and she pushes Evans away.  Conti with a take down and she gets a near fall.  Evans pushes Conti to the mat and gets a near fall.  Evans with an Irish whip but Conti sends Evans to the apron.  Evans with a slingshot side kick and she gets a near fall. 

Evans with an arm bar and she gets a near fall.  Conti with a kick and back fist and then she sends Evans to the mat.  Evans with a kick and she gets a near fall.  Conti with a forearm to the back and a kick to the back.  Conti with an overhead belly-to-belly throw for a near fall.  Conti with a forearm to the back and a kick.

Conti with a monkey flip for a near fall.  Conti chokes Evans in the ropes.  Evans blocks a kick and Evans with a palm thrust to Conti.  Conti with a knee and a hip lock side slam for a near fall.  Evans with a kick and clotheslines.  Evans with a neck breaker and an elbow drop.  Evans with a handstand in the corner into a bronco buster.

Evans gets Conti on her shoulders and hits a Jig N Tonic for the three count.

Winner:  Lacey Evans (Advances to face Toni Storm)

We go to Charly Caruso and she mentions the next match.

Reina Gonzalez and she mentions her father is Ricky Gonzalez.  She says she is a collegiate athlete and her athleticism will catch people by surprise.  She won’t show any mercy in this tournament and she will push through who Reina Gonzalez is to the whole WWE.

Nicole Savoy says she is the Queen of Suplexes.  She says she is very aggressive.  If she is not giving suplexes, she is throwing opponents around the ring.  She says she likes to talk trash.  She says she is one of the best in the world and it is go time.

Match Number Three:  Reina Gonzalez versus Nicole Savoy

Reina refuses the hand shake before the match.

They lock up and Gonzalez with a clean break.  They lock up again and Gonzalez with a hammer lock.  They lock up and Savoy blocks an arm drag but Gonzalez with a slam.  They lock up and Savoy with a side head lock.  Gonzalez backs Savoy into the ropes.  Savoy returns to the side head lock. 

Savoy with a shoulder tackle that has no effect.  She tries a second time and has the same result.  Savoy with a rana and a series of strikes.  Gonzalez pulls Savoy down by the hair and follows with a clothesline.  Gonzalez with a forearm to the back.  Savoy with kicks and she tries for a drop toe hold but Gonzalez stays on her feet.

Gonzalez with kicks and forearms.  Gonzalez with a European uppercut but Savoy with a boot.  Savoy runs into a side slam for a near fall from Gonzalez.  Gonzalez with a scorpion lock but Savoy with a drop toe hold to escape.  Savoy with forearms but Gonzalez with a shoulder tackle.  Gonzalez gets Savoy on her shoulders but Savoy with a kimura into a cross arm breaker.  Gonzalez blocks it and Savoy with kicks and she applies the cross arm breaker and Gonzalez taps out.

Winner:  Nicole Savoy (Advances to face Candice LeRae)

Jim Ross and Lita talk about Kairi Sane and the talk about her.  Jim Ross talks about the pedigree of Sane’s opponent, Tessa Blanchard.

Tessa Blanchard says she is a different person when she hits the ring.  She says she is proud to be a Blanchard but she does not want to be handed anything because of her name.  She says it is her time to make her own name.

Kairi Sane points out that she is the only Japanese competitor in the tournament.  She says she wants to showcase the original Kairi Sane style.  She says her goal is to win and make her mark on the other competitors.

Shinsuke Nakamura is in the crowd.

Match Number Four:  Kairi Sane versus Tessa Blanchard

They lock up and go to a stalemate.  They lock up again and Tessa backs Sane to the ropes but misses a punch.  They go for a test of strength and Sane with the advantage.  Blanchard powers to an even mark and she gets the advantage.  Blanchard with a side head lock.  Blanchard with punches to the head.  Sane with punches to the midsection but Sane with a rollup for a near fall.  Sane with a running blockbuster.  Blanchard with a forearm and a neck breaker for a near fall.

Tessa with an Irish whip but she runs into a knee.  Blanchard gets Sane tied up in the ropes with a kick and hits a Codebreaker for a near fall.  Tessa with an abdominal stretch.  Sane pulls Tessa to the mat but Tessa with forearms.  Tessa charges into the corner and Sane with a spear.  Both women are down but Sane gets to her feet first.  Sane with chops and shoulders in the corner.  Sane with a sliding forearm and she goes up top and hits a forearm.  Sane gets a near fall.  Sane with a forearm to the back and she applies an Octopus.

Tessa gets to the ropes to force a release of the hold.  Blanchard sends Sane into the ropes and Tessa chokes Sane in the ropes.  Tessa with a drop kick to the back followed by a running elbow.  Tessa with short arm clotheslines and follows with a belly-to-back suplex.  Tessa gets a near fall.  Tessa goes up top and Sane with forearms to stop her.

They both fight on the turnbuckles and Blanchard with a head butt and Sane goes to the mat.  Tessa with a back senton off the turnbuckles for a near fall.  Tessa sets for a kimura but Sane gets Tessa up.  Tessa counters into a sunset flip and Sane also gets a near fall.  Sane goes for a sliding forearm but Tessa with a block and rollup.  Sane with a kick to the back of the head followed by an Alabama Slam.  Sane signals for the elbow drop and she goes up top.  Sane with the elbow drop for the three count.

Winner:  Kairi Sane (Advances to face Bianca Belair)

After the match, Blanchard and Sane hug.
