The pre-game show was a lot of fun. I don’t say that often.
Code Orange opened the show hot with a live performance, interspersed with NXT clips promoting the show. Cool stuff. The crowd loved it.
Johnny Gargano vs. Andrade “Cien” Almas is opening the show. Just as I was wondering if Tommaso Ciampa would show up, Mauro, Nigel and Percy wondered the same thing. Johnny is out first. The crowd is clearly behind Johnny.
Good action early, with Almas in control. Selena Vega is happy. Crowd is rooting for Johnny.
Johnny came back and got a two with a Spear. He followed with a tope suicida and it got the crowd chanting NXT. Gargano followed with a slingshot DDT for a two count. Johnny hit a Spear but Almas came back with a Tornado DDT for a two.
They made their way to the top. Johnny was seated and hit a headbutt. He went for a Sunset Flip Powerbomn but Almas got out. It was counter city until Johnny locked in the Gargano Escape. Almas came back with the Buckle Bomb and got and got a two with the knees to the face. The fans are going nuts and rightfully so. This is tremendous.
The crowd is rooting for Gargano but Almas went to work on the arm. Johnny came back with kicks and a lawn dart into the top rope. Gargano is so stupid good. Vega then threw Johnny a DIY shirt and he was distracted looking at it, allowing Almas to face plant him for the DDT. Vega is already paying dividends. Great booking.
This was a tremendous match and I want them to continue this feud. We are off and running.
They shot to the box. Daniel Bryan and Kurt Angle are scouting talent.
Corey Graves is out to call AOP vs. Sanity. Awesome. Sanity is out first. AOP is next, led by Paul Ellering. They have on some bad ass gear as they come out. I won’t lie. I love the AOP. They ran right in and went after Wolfe and Dain. We are off and running. They are brawling like beasts before the bell. And it just rang. Wolfe and Akam to start.
Sanity had Eric Young take Killian Dain’s place after the bell since he never tagged in. It’s Young and Wolfe. They are brawling on the floor.
Back in the ring the AOP are working over Young. The announcers were saying EY had a plan. Right now it seems like it’s to get beat up. They are tearing him up.
EY finally made the hot tag and Wolfe went to work on Akam and then Rezar. Then Akam again. Wolfe is on fire. The German hit a big German Suplex and a clothesline off of the top. AOP came back and got a two. They went to powerbomb him off of the top but Wolfe his a ran. He made the hot tag to EY. He went up but got crotched. Nikki stopped him from getting dusted and EY hit an elbow, but two count only. EY came back with a tope suicida. Wolfe followed with a pescado. Nikki came in and the crowd went nuts for her. Elling came in and tried to stop her. She went up and splashed for Akam but he caught her. Dain then ran into the both. Crazy! The crowd loves it. Wolfe got the hot tag. EY went up and they took out Rezar. Sanity are your new tag champ.
This was also awesome. This feud has just started. They can take it so many places. Wow, what an awesome start to the night.
Before the new champs could really enjoy what they accomplished, out came Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly. They attacked Dain. They attacked Sanity. They attacked AOP. It’s on. The fans love it. reDRagon in the house!
Shinsuke, Neville and Kalisto are in the house.
