ROBBIE E DISCUSSES THE ORIGINS OF HIS NEW VIDEO SERIES FOR MUSCLE & FITNESS

By Mike Johnson on 2017-08-18 12:13:00

As previously noted on PWInsider.com, longtime Impact Wrestling competitor Robbie E. is now hosting weekly videos for Muscle & Fitness, designed to entertain while showing that even Dads can stay fit despite the responsibilities of raising their children.

The origin of the videos actually dated back to when Robbie competed in CBS' The Amazing Race.

When I did The Amazing Race, I think it was the first time that Muscle & Fitness had done any kind of article on me" Robbie told PWInsider.com.  "They had contacted me at the time, as they knew I was in wrestling and covered spark the training I endured to prepare for the show and when I was on the show and that kind of stuff, so they wrote something about me.  Then, we kind of hit it off, so I kept in touch with the guys from there that do the write-ups.  They'd reach out to me and I'd reach out to them every few months, just to see what kind of new stuff is going on."

The birth of Robbie's twins led to the inspiration for the videos.

["Muscle & Fitness] knew I had just had baby twins, well, now, nine months ago and they wrote something up when they were first born.  They recently reached out to me and said, 'You're still looking the same and super-fit and being in the gym regularly.  How are you doing that while having twins?'  They asked if I was interested in making videos showing that Dads can still stay fit and avoid getting the 'Dad Bod.' I'm the perfect guy for giving you tips on how to stay fit while making the video sort of fun and entertaining.  It's a fun thing to watch if you are just trying to be entertained but also if you are a dad trying to stay fit, it's a  cool little tips of a workout that you can do while you are playing with your kids.   It's a real thing.  When you become a dad, it's so easy to become a different person, to skip the gym or let your hair grow in and you don't have time for stuff.  You've got to avoid that.  You have to still be the cool you and the person you were before you had kids and by doing so, you can be a cool dad and a role model for your kids."

The plan is for the video series to be open-ended, with new episodes dropping every Monday morning at 10:30 AM EST on all of Muscle & Fitness' social media platforms as well as the Muscle & Fitness website.

"They are taking off and [Muscle & Fitness] are happy with it.  The videos are doing dynamite compared to the other videos they have up there.  They are talking about sending a camera crew to my house so it's a little better quality.  Muscle & Fitness is serious with stuff, so I think they like a little comedy and it's something a little different for them.  I'm hoping it goes until I'm a hundred years old."

During our interview, Robbie also discussed his status with GFW and why he's had time off, teaming with Bram in NOAH in Japan, why everyone was shocked when Bram was sent home after he posted a photo on Instagram, Jesse Godderz and their time as the Bromans, raising his nine month old twins, how having kids changed him, filming The Amazing Race for CBS, being one of the longest tenured Impact talents, the impending return of the Jersey Shore, whether he's ever gotten feedback from anyone in the Shore cast about the gimmick, going to see NKOTB in concert and much more!  You can listen to the entire Robbie E interview as well as our interviews this week with WWE talents and get everything else the PWInsider Elite section has to offer by subscribing at www.PWInsiderElite.com.
