The Orlando Police Department's public affairs officer informed PWInsider.com this afternoon that to the best of their knowledge, "Jose Rodriguez is not a suspect" under investigation going forward in regard to the 7/9 Orlando Airport incident. Rodriguez, of course, is current Global Force Wrestling champion Alberto el Patron.
That would seem to pave the way for Global Force Wrestling to drop the suspension of Patron, their current champion. PWInsider.com was told by a GFW source the company had a conference call with Patron earlier today.
With the police investigation into the incident determining that WWE star Paige was the aggressor and that there is enough evidence to prosecute her for domestic violence battery (which is what Patron had been under investigation for), the next move is to see if the State Attorney's office opts to move forward with pressing charges and prosecuting.
It was announced earlier this week that Patron would be stepping down from his position with Combate Americas.
