SECOND, MORE DETAILED 5/14 WWE IN COPENHAGEN, DENMARK REPORT

By Nicholai Askholm on 2017-05-15 15:37:00

WWE came to Denmark for the first time ever, where the Smackdown roster closed out the European Tour on 5/14

Alot of people, including myself, were afraid how the turnout would be, but unofficial numbers say around 8,000 tickets sold in the newly opened Royal Arena. From my seat it looked like only the upper section was pretty much empty.

Doors opened at 18, with show start at 19:30. Already huge line at 17:30, and took me around half hour to get in.

1. Shinsuke Nakamura def. Dolph Ziggler.  Really good match, and great way to start the show. Nakamura is also super over here, and got a big ovation. Surprisingly many "Let's go Ziggler/Ziggler sucks" chants.

2. Breezango & Tye Dillinger def. The Ascension & Aiden English.  Very fun match. Nice ovation for Breezango and Tye. Decent amount of "Fandangoing". Aiden sang his way to the ring, and got good heat. The faces celebrated with the Danish flag after the match.

3. Luke Harper def. Erick Rowan.

4. WWE Smackdown Women's Champion Naomi, Becky Lynch & Charlotte def. Natalya, Tamina & Carmella (w/ James Ellsworth).   Great ovation for all three babyfaces. Alot of "woos" for Charlotte.

5. WWE United States Champion Kevin Owens def. Sami Zayn.  Good match between these two, as expected. KO is incredible. After the match he started what seemed like a face promo, but quickly turned by saying there were no real men in Denmark, and the children needed a real leader. Great stuff. Sami helluva kicked him, and celebrated with our flag.

- Intermission

6. Baron Corbin squashed Mojo Rawley.

7. WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Usos def. The Colóns & American Alpha.  The Usos were very popular. Unfortunately not so many chants for AA.

8. WWE Champion Randy Orton def AJ Styles & Jinder Mahal (w/ The Singh Brothers).  Great reaction for AJ. Crazy reaction for Orton. Lot of heat for Jinder. Good match to close the show. Small staredown between AJ and Orton after the match, where AJ handed Orton the title.

Great night, with surprisngly many in attendance, and great crowd all night. It is really hard to say how popular WWE is here, but amazing amosphere.

The show ended around half hour late, so three hours of action. Big shout out to all performers for not holding back, even after so long and grueling tour.

Greg Hamilton closed the show by saying hopefully they will come back in the future. I think we all hope the same.

Pops:

1. Orton
2. AJ
3. Nakamura

Heat:

1. Jinder
2. Aiden
3. KO
