JBL RESPONDS TO ALLEGATIONS BROUGHT AGAINST HIM

By Mike Johnson on 2017-04-07 09:54:00

This morning, WWE star JBL responded to several allegations that have been levied against him in recent days via Twitter.

One of those allegations were that JBL sparked Mauro Ranallo's recent depression issues with comments made about Ranallo on the air.  JBL responded:

JBL also responded to an allegation made by Justin Roberts about bullying Roberts endured while touring with the Smackdown brand as a ring announcer, including his passport being stolen.  In his excellent book Best Seat In The House, Roberts tells many stories about JBL's behavior on international tours when it came to hazing and bullying Roberts.  JBL responded:

However, it should be noted in Roberts' book that he never accuses JBL of the theft.  He simply recounts the story about how his passport disappeared, leaving him stuck in Great Britain when it was time for the rest of the crew to depart.     Nowhere in the book does JBL get blamed for that passport disappearing, although there are many other antics that Roberts specifically recounts JBL as being responsible for.

In his book, Roberts wrote, "JBL was a fixture in the company and future overseas tour and I couldn't do anything about it.  Every tour he was on for the next few yeas involved him and his bullying.  Every day I saw him, he asked me why I was still alive and told me to go kill myself.   Sadly, there are some people out there who probably would have been driven to that point had they been faced with his treatment for that long.  Maybe he never had friends who actually went through ith it and had no problems encouraging others to do it.  He would verbally abuse guys, force them to drink and even force guys like Palmer Cannon to quit mid-tour."

In his book, Roberts also recounted the following incidents involving himself and JBL:

*While on a tour of Japan, JBL had the company tour buses pull over to demand Roberts leave the "babyface" bus and join the "heel" bus, where he was verbally abused by the entire bus over his alleged relationship with newsletters and internet websites and yelled at over what a terrible person he was.

*On that same tour of Japan, talents kept calling and trying to enter Roberts' room.  Roberts alleged they had even somehow gotten a key to the room but Roberts had locked an additional lock inside.  In the book, Roberts wrote, "Mike "Nova" Bucci later said Chris Benoit and JBL were hunting the hotel for  me and trying to find my hotel room.  He said they did this so violently that he was praying I wouldn't open the door."

*Roberts, who was working a tour while sick, was screamed at for sleeping on a bus and "taking a seat" from Chris Benoit by JBL.

*JBL would routinely take Roberts' luggage and throw it "down the street" when the tour would arrive at its destination.

*No matter where Roberts sat on the company's tour buses, he was berated verbally by JBL.  If he sat in the front, he was screamed at for not having respect because now veterans had to walk towards the back.  If he went to the back, he was screamed at for taking a spot and making veterans have to sit together as opposed to having their own row.  If he sat in a window seat, he was screamed at for not taking an aisle seat.

*When Roberts was asked to throw t-shirts to the crowd and joked he wouldn't be a good throw because he never learned, JBL used that story as a reason to attack Roberts and bury him to everyone.  Roberts wrote, "Everything I said would be taken, twisted and used against me."

Roberts, who was dealing with his father battling cancer at the same time, described the antics he endured as "pure evil" in his book.
