With Jeff Jarrett in charge of Impact what's the status of his promotion Global Wrestling Federation?
I don't know about the GWF. You'd have to ask Joe Pedicino! However, Global Force Wrestling still technically exists. Their belts and talents will be appearing on Impact programming. Jarrett also has a standing production deal and has been in discussions for a potential TV deal through that relationship. My guess is that it will fade into Impact and will have those elements featured on the former TNA instead. It may be that they do something independent with it, but my guess is that's more of a longshot now.
It may be early to tell, but are they finally turning Roman Reigns heel? On Raw, they had Brawn Strowman cut a face promo on Reigns, and then Reigns came out and cut a heel promo on The Undertaker.
I think we are closer to that point than ever, but it remains to be seen. It's all a Vince McMahon call.
What's the point of having the undefeated monster you've been successfully building for months and the undefeated-on-ppv female, with a streak you've building for months, both lose on the brand-only ppv BEFORE your biggest show? Why not save those for Wrestlemania?
These are great questions and I scratched my head at each of those moves myself. At the end of the day, it comes to down to Vince McMahon and what visions he has for Wrestlemania. No matter how much momentum something has, if it doesn't jibe with what Vince wants for the big show, the momentum will be curtailed.
Why would you put two unannounced, midcard, matches on a show. It totally let you know that the Goldberg/Ownens was going to run short. If you were going to do something like this, why not have Seth Rollins come out and lip HHH, do a bit to start to introduce the new Evolution stable (don't think we didn't notice Owens mention his evolution on Monday). - Perhaps a set up to Joe/HHH vs Finn/Seth? This way you can protect Seth's knee with limiting work rate, build a respect storyline about the injury to Finn, have Joe want to destroy two men that he could put on excellent matches coming out of Mania, etc?
They wanted the additional matches to pad out the three hours. I really think a better idea would have been to have allowed the first two matches on the show to have additional time, given that fans were into those scenarios, where the Jinder/Rusev singles matches came out of nowhere and didn't serve to help any of the talents involved. Rollins was not at the PPV.
The Streak. How hard would it have been to have a DQ on Bayley for Sasha's interference? It only makes sense. Charlotte retains her streak so it can be built but is fed up with Sasha. Bayley can have friction with Sasha due to her squeaky clean image. Sasha can slowly start to turn tweener with more of The Boss coming through. This would lead to a perfect 3-Way Match at Mania?
I am with you 100% on this. There was absolutely no reason for the streak to have ended in the manner it did.
