I have to get your opinion on the Royal Rumble match. To me it was insane and not in a good way. Why they put so many people in the match who had already competed like Cesaro, Sheamus, Reigns... or put entire stables in the match like the Wyatts and New Day to me makes no sense. Why not maximize the amount of talent on the show? Also including those who people care little about because they have been so mishandled like Apollo Crews. There was really no surprise entrant other than Dillinger (which is usually what makes the match so special) and it seemed like Lesnar, Goldberg, and Taker were a footnote at best. There were many good moments in the match and I am satisfied with the winner but would have preferred Bray, Miz, or Corbin to win. I mean seriously what was Vince thinking? How would you have booked the match? Cena vs Orton at Wrestlemania? Been there, done that many times, boring!
I can see them making a case for guys that work all year long having a chance to get a Title match at Mania. That aspect didn’t bother me. I did think they really dropped the ball in using the match itself as a vehicle to advance storylines in various feuds. I think the minimal interaction between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar was especially disappointing. I would have made sure have more storyline advancement if I were booking the match.
What is the general feeling backstage on the PPV-bonuses considering the buyrates are much lower now a days with a lot more people going for the Network instead of buying PPV's old school style?
For the most part, talents realized that something that they used to get has gone away. In most cases they don’t have much bargaining power so they just have to accept that it’s the new normal.
Is there any way we're NOT getting Lesnar v Goldberg III for WrestleMania?
Even before the angle on last week’s Raw this was set in stone. They can’t let it end like this considering Goldberg is an older guy and Lesnar is still a big talent on their roster.
Do you think that NXT would benefit from having the title defended at Wrestlemania, or should it be kept for TakeOver events only?
I would love to see every Title in the company defended at WrestleMania. For the Takeover before the show, they should have the Champion and his Mania challenger each have matches with those Mania spots on the line. It’s the one time of year I would like to see the NXT belt defended on a WWE show. And I would put HHH in charge as the Producer of the match, not Vince McMahon.
How awesome would Joe vs Nakamura @ Wrestlemania be? I mean, Nakamuras entrance alone I'd pay at least $9.99 for!
I would love to see it. If Seth Rollins can’t go, I could book an amazing angle that would get us to Joe vs. Nakamura at Mania. Triple surely could as well.
