PHILLY STILL WANTS WRESTLEMANIA, REGAL ON HERO'S WWE RETURN AND MORE

The Philadelphia Inquirer featured a story today on the city of Brotherly Love being passed over for Wrestlemania again and their continued push to bring WWE's flagship event to the city.    "Philadelphia is proud of our longstanding partnership with WWE over the years,” Larry Needle, executive director of PHL Sports told the newspaper. “Bidding for WrestleMania was extremely competitive, but we are very confident that we'll have many more premier WWE events in Philadelphia in the near future. We're also looking forward to hosting one of the country's biggest sporting events this spring, the NFL Draft, and welcoming another fantastic slate of events throughout 2017 and beyond.”  To read the piece, click here.

We are told that there were plans for Wrestlemania 34 to originally be in the Northeast (I believe in the NYC area) but that idea was dropped due to the excellent bid and presentation New Orleans made to bring the event back to the Big Easy.

William Regal spoke to ESPN UK over the weekend about WWE bringing back Chris Hero/Kassius Ohno to NXT at this link.    When asked about his potential in the company, "It's entirely up to him.  He's just got to stay healthy, that's the No. 1 thing, the hardest thing. It's the great thing that people have no idea about, because of the way we are now, that injuries stop you doing what you do."

Funko announced they would be releasing exclusive Funko Pop figures of Shawn Michaels and Kane. The figures will be released via Walgreen's.
