TAMMY SYTCH LEGAL UPDATE

By Mike Johnson on 2016-12-23 12:56:00

Tammy "Sunny" Sytch will be formally arraigned on Thursday 1/12/17 at 9 AM at Northampton County Court in Easton, PA stemming number of charges on 9/5, including charges of receiving stolen property (a misdemeanor in PA, which could see punishment of up to one year incarceration and/or a fine of $2,500), as well as summary charges of driving without a license (as it had been suspended upon her DUI convictions), driving an unregistered vehicle, operating a vehicle without required financial responsibility (meaning no insurance), displaying plate card in improper vehicle (meaning license plates were placed on a car they didn't belong to), fraudulent use or removal of registered licensed plates, operating a vehicle without valid inspection, and driving without Evidence of an Emission Inspection (something that is required in State of PA).  Based on the charges the "stolen property" would appear to be a car, although court records do not specifically state such.  The lesser charges carry punishment of up to 90 days incarceration and/or a $300 fine for each offense.

In the event Sytch does not plead guilty, a criminal trial in regard to the charges is already on the docket for 2/27/17 at 9 AM at Northampton County Court.

Sytch was arrested on those charges just 18 days into her five year probation in nearby Carbon County, PA following a judgment against her for a trio of 2015 DUIs that saw her sentenced to 97 days in jail, only to be given credit for 95 days in rehab and 2 in jail and released.

On Monday 9/12 (the same day Sytch was rushed from her home in Palmerton, PA to Palmerton Hospital), she was charged with possession of alcohol as well as being under the influence of alcohol - both of which would violate the zero tolerance terms of her probation.  On her Facebook page at the time, Sytch referred to her hospitalization as being related to her pancreas.   In Sytch's autobiography A Star Shattered, which had been released earlier in 2016, Sytch wrote that past health issues involving pancreatitis were brought on by her heavy drinking and nearly led to her death in the past and that she had been warned by doctors that if she did not stop, it would lead to her death.  Sytch wrote on social media that she was released from the hospital on 9/20.

Police sources in Palmerton, PA confirmed to PWInsider.com that just three days later, on 9/23, Sytch was brought back to Palmerton Hospital from her home after authorities were called there.  Court records cite that on that date, Sytch was again charged with being under influence of alcohol, a third violation of the zero tolerance policy of her probation.

Sytch was taken into custody, apparently from the hospital, and taken directly to the Carbon County Correctional Facility.  Sytch has remained incarcerated since 9/23.

Sytch was scheduled to be sentenced in regard to her probation/parole violation on 11/18 but that was postponed so she can be transferred to Northhampton to face the charges mentioned above.  Once that process runs its course, she will finally learn what her punishment for the probation/parole violations will be.

There is currently a hearing regarding her probation/parole being revoked set for 2/17/17 at 1:15 PM, but until her criminal charges in Northampton, PA have been resolved, it is possible that will again be pushed back.
