PENTAGON DARK VS. THE BLACK LOTUS ARMY & MORE: 11/30 LUCHA UNDERGROUND TV REPORT

By Bill Bodkin on 2016-12-02 11:44:00

Previously on Lucha Underground...

We see all the events leading up to tonight's Pentagon Dark vs. Black Lotus Army Match.

Vignette: Petagon Dark is confronted by Vampiro who says everyone has to pay for their sins. If PD makes it out alive, there will be hell to pay. PD flashes his Cero Miedo signal and walks off.

Match #1: Pentagon Dark vs. The Black Lotus Army

Pentagon Dark enters the ring, and not surprisingly the crowd explodes with Cero Miedo. The dude is just insanely over

Note: The Black Lotus army is Doku (Kaori Housako), Yurei (Kaouri Housako), and Hito Kiri (Io Shirai). All three of these women are from the World Wonder Ring Stardom (Stardom for short) promotion in Japan, and regarded as some of the top women in that promotion, if not the world right now.

The first competitor out is Doku.

The two lock-up and Pentagon drives her into the corner, Doku hits him with a fury of slaps and chops. She follows with a kick to the inner thigh.  Pentagon returns with a furious dropkick which launches Doku into the corner. Pentagon gets lit up with kicks and chops. Doku nails a spinning back fist, and then a running forearm. He stops her second attempt with a super kick.  The crowd goes nuts. Pentagon kicks her hard in the hamstring, then follows it up with a vicious overhand chops to the chest. Pentagon tosses Doku out of the ring. Doku is in trouble and then eats a PK to the mush. She then goes head first into the wall. She gets flung into the corner post. Pentagon gorilla presses Doku onto the ring apron...more like launches her. He whips Doku into Dario's office. He measures her and kicks her head off with a super kick. They get back into the ring and Pentagon playfully taunts her and then hits another hamstring kick.  Doku goes for a spear, but gets caught. She counters a few moves and finally hits the spear. Doku slaps her elbow and limbs to the elbow. She hits a high elevation elbow drop off the top. She goes up for another, but Pentagon catches her with his legs and rolls through and BREAKS HER DAMN ARM.

Doku is eliminated.

Thoughts: This was a really, really fun way to kick off this match. It did a great job of both establishing Pentagon as the dominant force in the match, as well as the fact he's got his hands full. Doku got to showcase a little bit, but her job was to wet the appetite of the crowd for what was next to come.

Vingette: Catrina confronts Jeremiah (Sami Callihan). She says Jeremiah brought her to the Temple. Now he's returned in the flesh, so why isn't he happy  to see her? She's the reason Jeremiah wears wears the stone around neck. She says he's still in love with her, but she's in love with someone else. She licks his face, and disappears.

The second competitor is Yurei

Crowd is going nuts for Pentagon  He kicks Yurei in the gut. She launches herself over Pentagon  and they exchange arm drags. Yurei hits a springboard body scissors into a Mexican arm drag -- unreal! She hits a leaping frogsplash onto Pentagon on the outside, the elevation was sick.  She slams PD's head into the apron, post, and rail. She lights him up with kicks as PD taunts her. She hits him with some forearm shivers, and then throws him into the chairs. She bangs his head repeated;y into the wooden chairs. She slams him into the announce table and then very sloppily hits him with the ring bell. I mean that deserved an ECW-esque "You F'ed up" chant. PD eats the wall twice, then the bleachers. Pentagon counters with hamstring kicks Yurei slaps him twice. He grounds her with a hamstring kick. Yurei comes back with slaps and kicks, then throws Pentagon into the bleachers once again. Yurei hits a running knee strike. She goes for another and doesn't quiet connect. She goes for a third but Pentagon rolls her up with a Single Leg Crab, he then twists and torques it into a twist crab/leg bar. This combo should absolutely be a finisher for someone. She gets to the ropes and breaks the hold. Pentagon curb stomps the leg a number of times. He ties her in the ropes, brushes her hair back in a taunting manner and then tattoos her in the chest with a chop. Yurei gets in the corner kicks Pentagon and comes off the top with a rana. She stomps him and goes back to the top and hits a flying double stomp for only a two. Yurei goes for a whip but gets countered. She hits two kicks then a flying round-the-world DDT. She goes to the top and does a flipping centan an but gets caught for a package pilderiver.  Pentagon decides guess what, BREAK THE ARM.

Yurei is eliminated.

Thoughts: Yurei got more offense in but there were a number of bad spots here -- lot of an air between her and Pentagon on her knee strikes, the ring bell shot was really bad. Pentagon still worked his ass off and made this entertaining.

Pentagon is obviously gassed.

Vignette: Mantanza is punching walls in his cell.  Dario says "Good, you must be ready." He says next week Mantaza will face Mundo for the title. Mantanza says "no." Dario is confused. Mantanza yells he wants "MYSTERIO" as Dario sees a bloody question mark beaten into the walls of his cell.

Kiko Kiri enters.

She enters quietly and levels Pentagon with a massive dropkick. She hits a jumping moonsault to the outside. She runs back into the ring and nails a high speed flying tope suicida. Kiko grabs a chair from under the ring. She does the Sabu chair toss to Pentagon's face  She nails PD in the back with the chair. She begins ramming the chair into the back of Pentagon's neck, then tosses the chair again at his face. Pentagon goes into the announce table again. Kiko slaps Pentagon in the mush. She tosses him into the railing.  She kicks him in the gut. She throws him into the chairs then steps on his throat. She pulls the padding up from the floor and goes for a tombstone. He blocks, but ends up getting slammed into the mat. Kiko toys with him with kicks. He taunts her and she starts kicking harder. She hits him with some forearms and then whips him into the ropes, but he nails a huge kick. Kiko is unfazed and hits some kicks. She goes for the springboard handspring but Pentagon destroys her with a diving dropkick to the gut. She taunt kicks her and her PK's her in the back of the head. Pentagon lights Kiko up with a monstrous chop to the chest. He kicks right in the face as hard as he could. He flings her into the chairs, and Kiko is on Dream Street. He starts whipping and choking her with camera cables. He ties her her to the post and she is choking against the ring post. He nails her with a chairshot to the "caboose" as Striker calls it. He PKs Kiko. He tosses her viciously inyo the chairs, wiping all of them out. He FUs her onto exposed concrete. She drop toe holds him onto a chair. Kiko goes to the top of Dario's office. Crowd is going apeshit. She comes off and hits a massive dive not him. They somehow get back in the ring and Pentagon goes the package driver, but Kikp counters with a Destroyer.

Winner: Kiko Kiri.

Thoughts: Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Kiko Kiri needs to wrestle on American TV all the time -- whether it's for Lucha Underground or WWE, she needs to be on TV immediately.

Black Lotus comes out. Now I don't when this was filmed, but she's pregnant so I don't know how much she's going to do in the ring. The crowd chants break his arm. Black Lotus sloppily kicks Marty Elias. Lotus stomps on Pentagon a bunch. She goes to break his arm and does so kinda sloppily. Pentagon is in pain. She walks over Pentagon. Dragon Azteca comes out, and I think I know how this will go. The ninjas leave the ring. He breaks Pentagon's other arm. Vampiro looks on with glee.

Vignette: We're in a church (Iand Puma wakes up in a coffin. He's freaked out, especially when he sees a bloody Vampiro who says "Come with me."

Overall Thoughts: This was a great episode, and one Lucha Underground's specialties -- one angle dominating an entire episode. Given the brevity of an LU episode (60 minutes or so), they can do this, and they used all the time in the episode to tell the story they wanted. Now, Pentagon probably should've won the match given the fact he's the most over he is, but he still looked an absolute monster. Given the fact Black Lotus is pregnant in real life, it was good to have her "army" with her and have them do all the work. Honestly, all three of the ninjas were awesome, and I'd love to see more of them on the show. The vignettes did a good job of establishing future storylines, especially Jeremiah Crane.
